Rode up at Perisher today and the cover has taken a bit of stick. In saying that last Sunday off the man made areas was pretty thin so with 20-40mm of r@!n and heavy school holiday traffic I think it is hanging in OK.

I observe I will be watching the observations intently over the next 72 hours.

I observe 6 hours of rain near Tumbarumba has yielded just on 10mm. Temp at the machinery shed reads -0.2. Maybe some of the good stuff tonight , just a maybe.

I observe this is either a terrible, or a wonderful time for the cedarwood cam to be inoperative

I suspect we're in for a blowey night. Just had the first bloody strong gust smash into the house....observing 2 x 1.5m windows flexing in the wind is rather unnerving...might draw the curtains. Certainly a sign of some serious weather brewing.

Wonder how they will go with inter club tomoz? What will the "race dept" conjure up between the wind (access) and lack of snow on the lower runs?

ANY snow that falls pre Tuesday is a 'bonus snow' as its making the base and its not rain! The prediction is for snow above 1700 and that is spot on at present. Lite snow at Smiggins with WNW wind, trying to snow. Somewhere between 40 and 90 for the week.

The band of precip is clearing western Victoria now and should be past the alps in the early hours, so we might get the upper slopes through round one intact.
The next round might not go so well....

no snow visible on the south perisher cam railing. either minimal fell, some well as rain or its blown away.

still waiting for the main event i guess.
