Neutral AAO & Negative Zonal winds in our region are disrupting & inhibiting the polar jet.
It's early in the season. Y'all need to be patient.
Wish to discuss further you can do so in the BBQ thread.

Pretty much. If it’s the same in a month then it’s a problem. If your worried about snow in your caught up in resort marketing BS.

Except for southern resorts we are ahead of the game for mid June due to last week. It's frustrating seeing systems failing to turn into genuine westerly snow loading fronts but it's not unusual to see junky bits and pieces systems come through at this time failing to deliver anything significant.

Looking at GFS Skew Ts ( circa 162 hours ) there is not lots of PW but there is solid mixing ratios - with some nice OPRH values- ie snowfall rates. Still a long way off but nice to see

Only Jane so far taking the lead of GFS & EC this morning, we shall see how it will carry through.
Where'd you get the BOM numbers from? All I can see from them yesterday is rain.

For me this morning looking at yr.no for perisher, I see 30mm of rain followed by 15-20cm for areas above 1700m, and very cold nights early next week - prime for snowmaking. I still see this as a positive system for Perisher/top half of thredders

Obviously we'd all like the big dump across all areas but a slow build of base above 1600-1700m at this time of year while we wait for the real westerlies is not a bad thing, except for Baw Baw at this point. So often when it goes big early the second half of the season fizzes out a bit and spring comes early ie 2011 and 2014.
