All models are pointing at a very cold but fairly dry new system to follow on from this week's season starter. Such is the possible cold, places as far north as Orange are forecast to be -2 to 3 on Monday!
Looks like 5-10cm Sunday night through Monday for the majors IMHO. Looking like the resorts could go 24/7 snowmaking, such is the potential chill of this system. Snow in unusual places possible too if it holds.
    Let the prognostications begin!

    IMO, looks fairly weak.

GFS has a wandering cold pool

    EC just looks weak.

    IMO just a duster.

This will change when the current set of fronts passes through, but at this stage im not seeing anything kicking off until the 30th.

At the moment this system is starting to look ok IMO. Cold enough with on and off snow falls. Bloody lot better than no snow.

Well EC it likes it a whole lot less today.
But GFS likes it a whole lot more. Go figure.
I wouldn't be betting on this one yet. IMO

All good, 2 to 5 cm maybe, just to keep the cover nice and fresh.

Looks to be a fairly cool period with the potential for overlapping moisture. Definately worth keeping an eye on.

That's because they're so hit/miss - they're not called wandering for nothing. Rogue cold pool might be a better name for them.

Didn't look that good when I checked this morning. It is GFS though - could be a downgrade or two before it arrives. Still worth a :woohoo:

That's got Buller and Bawbs written all over it. That's hiking Stirling territory if it came off.

Looks like 2-5cm as a top up. Snow to 1,000m forecast for the NSW central tablelands for Monday so not dead, but def not all that healthy.

Cant see much in this , a dusting at the very best I reckon. It does clear the way for something to follow.

The cold pool is too far north so more snow in Orange on Monday than Perisher. Just a cm or two above 900m for the CTs

Plenty cold enough, but dry as a bone. Perhaps a dusting in the very south

    IMO
