    Bump

Might be time for a new obs thread for the coming system @Claude Cat ?

Anyway, correct me if I'm wrong, but Falls Express cam shows some flakes falling (or otherwise they've got a big swarm of march flies or something there right now)
Temps are currently marginal for the big 3 Vic Resorts (Falls is sitting atm at 0.1)
    See for yourself:

While this thread is still open, this morning's flight.. much more widespread coverage than I normally see, thanks to the lower level falls. It looked like the combination of cloud and wind would have been diffficult on northern exposed areas. Cloud was hiding the northern/western faces of the main range, but a definite lift in cover vs 2 weeks ago when I flew over

It's been damp/misty and a bit too warm all day here at Hotham/Davenport. A top up tomorrow would be great.

Another day of welcoming sunshine here in Melbourne today. Almost made it to 16C, after yesterday's balmy top of 17C. Eating lunch in the sunshine was ace.
A return to cooler and wetter conditions tomorrow.

Cheers for the up to date conditions! Cams look a touch soggy. Definitely a day for hoping your gear's breathability ratings aren't a lie:

Cold, foggy and very windy at Davenport. Some light snow in the wind starting to accumulate on the roof. A little blue sky breaking through every now and then.

Strong and gusty wind with the occasional heavy shower here in NW Tasmania and relatively warm at 12 degrees plus. We have barely had a frost here yet this winter.

No Obs thread for this little beast yet, but plenty pissing in Adelaide (by Adelaide standards) and temp dropped a couple of degrees when the front just hit. Feeling happy....

Interesting temperature sounding from Melbourne AP
    [IMG]

850hPa temps rather warm - you can see a rise from low single digits to high single digits. Perhaps some sort of inversion, but given the wind, it's a bit surprising.
500hPa temps much better at -25C

Am guessing the anemometer at Hotham broke around this time yesterday. AWS has said 0 winds up there for 24 hours now, while Falls and Buller have been reporting gusts over 80kmh.

At least it's cold higher up - moisture on both the Melbourne and Yarrawonga radars, - a nice band of rain heading for Falls and Hotham right now.

Low spinning up nicely. Looks like it's not far from entering Bass Strait. Currently we're being hit by the Pre-Frontal. So if that's falling as snow. Bodes well for the main front.

Should be quite a main event.
