    Here she comes.

Cool, but mild in Melbourne. Much colder in northern parts of the state though.
Should see the rain hit Melbourne mid afternoon.

It's cool and cloudy up at Falls Creek. The day started clear and crisp but the clouds have been building. Summit and Mt Nelse currently obscured by cloud, wind slowly picking up.

Snow cover is holding up well, at resort level it's a bit like hard packed ice but higher up on some of the runs it is still soft fluffy.

Steady rain in NW Tassie for the last hour or so. A chilly 13.5 degrees in my lounge room and 8.8 degrees at the local AWS.

Showers in dubbo today from cloud mass moving southwards through northern NSW. Was only forecast to be cloudy. May mean more moisture feeding in from the north?

A rotation in the thermal gradient. A bit of Vorticity was rotating the isotherms ( does not tighten of weaken the gradient) . This results in changing wind vectors.

Just back from Perisher for the first slide of the season.
Clouds were building over the main range and the light was pretty flat when we left as they rolled in further.

Was a ripper day in East Gippsland - shorts and t- shirt weather, although temp dropped real fast as sun went down. Currently clear skies and no wind.

Noticed that the BOM dropped the VIC severe weather warning for damaging winds and heavy rainfall. Is that due to update coming or backing off?

Layer of fresh white over Falls this morning.

Yet to go outside for a proper look but I'd estimate a few CMS: 3-5 where I am/can see.

Lightly snowing and quite calm. Last night was very windy at times, I was woken up by the sound of splattering against the windows.

No love for NSW overnight, looking at the Obs and cams. It looks like NSW is in the eye of the storm this morning on Nat Radar loop. Any ideas when it might happen for Perisher today?
