15cm reported by Perisher's Instagram.
Highway open again, mt vic NSW.
Hard to judge depth on the cams when there are no objects of known size in the foreground. A few years ago there was a dear on friday flat cam and people were trying to argue it was a rabbit.
Hotham reporting 17cm overnight.
Can verify that.
70kts. The olde House was shakin'
Had to leave for the gong at 5.30....
I observed "bin night" carnage.
Clearing skies in Campbelltown, lovely morning for my weekly site visit
Yep, 6*C, bucketing rain and thunder on the beach this morning at sunrise on the N Beaches.
Can't remember a solid rain event at these temps
August 16 or 17 was raining and 5C at Beacon Hill. Was hoping to see a random flake that morning.
This morning is 8C at Beacon Hill so a tad warmer.
snowing at friday flat and the beginner chair is spinning. were starting to get smashed in Newcastle
Sorry Oliver no porridge today. Only powder.
Mum sent a few pics from Lithgow this morning.
Free skiing / skins ??
My Post was about Thredbo . Yes Perisher had plenty and is corraborated by the eveidence in the BOM can , Does anyone know Why Thredbo doesnt have one that records precip when its below zero
Thredbo top station is more out in the elements?

Thredbo reporting 20cm up high.
Looks like 5cm in the village also and currently snowing
Rain gauges freeze over from time to time, happens to Hotham gauge all the time as well.
FC reporting 30cm in last 24 hours (on FB)
Yes thats a nice little bit of footage from the village and the 5 cm isnt it
Here's DP this morning ( from Snow stuff)
Bells Line of Road
There is nothing 'dumping down to the village!' about that. These marketers just blatantly write sh8T.
Just a quick guide
Dumping = some snow
snowing = flurries
flurries = cloudy
bluebird = melting
drizzle = pissing down
firm = icy+100km/h winds
15cm at Perisher.
Wintery mix - it's raining
Wintery - it's pssing down
Packed powder - bullet proof ice
Powder, anything from Graupel up.
Fresh - gale force winds
Winter wonderland- we have snow settled on the ground.
Baw Baw looking pretty special today:
By looking at thredbos Instagram post, I'm sure as he'll they didn't get 20cm. Where is the official evidence just like Falls and Hotham do. No 'table meter', powerade bottles?
I believe they would be talking about up top.
The village certainly did not get 20cm.
Did you notice that when it was off its tits last night temperatures were above freezing at Thredbo village and it was borderline snow/rain. What sticks at village level has absolutely no bearing on what happens further up the hill where all the skiing is.
I observe that this system has not been a complete fizzer like I thought it would be! A nice little top up after last week's storm and everything is looking good to GO for this weekend's opener special
agreed and its often the case at Thredbo . Its a nice little vid but last year they were always quick off the mark with riders smashing through the "20 cm of fresh snow " that the insta claims . I know that the resort is closed but im sure it wouldnt be too hard to do and would give a better indication of what actually happened . The stick idea that other resorts have is a good idea too
I observe that I am happy I am in Mexico today rather than home.
If I couldn’t be in Jindy that is.
Wow Blue cow live cam is dumping snow / blowing snow and some of the guns on as well..... very white
Does it really matter if Thredbo got **** all in the village? I mean it’s largely redundant to the actual skiing isn’t it?
Never knew the Weasley's lived in Dinner Plain.
Looks like Baw Baw and Dinner Plain did very nicely indeed out of this.
I've been watching the bushes in the Michaels Mistake cam at Thredbo. Judging by what was there yesterday and what is now covered 20cm seems about right for that spot at least.
The background of the Michael's Mistake cam though, and to my eye Excelerator at Perisher as well, are showing a bit more shrubbery poking through then before this system. Would fit with the pattern often seen in these types of systems where snow is stripped from some locations that are very exposed to the S/SE winds.
As long as it is not raining in the village, then yes largely redundant IMO as primarily a Thredbo skier. The top two thirds will have base and the lower trails will have snowmaking coverage. If its dry snow top to bottom than it is going to be a good day regardless of whether the valley has 2cm or 20cm of fresh.
Stay on topic.
Weather observations only.
I'm not sure that's the sort of brand exposure Woolworths would be hoping for.
Cedarwood finally updated. Looks like 15+ on the table but the rest of the courtyard is much more filled in.
Gonna need to clear the deck soon!
Chickens maybe a little overcooked.
June 14 last as a comparison
5cm in the village usually translates to 20cm on the hill at Thredbo. We don't usually ski in the village.
On the ABC too:
