You left off WTF?
From FB. Looks like Dover Heights or Vaucluse area. Hope their window was closed.
I wish, but no I am at Long Beach.
ASCAT SURFACE WIND DATA (REAL TIME)
Just gone dead still here in Sydney (northern beaches).
Could be the eye of the storm passing over?
Must be getting close 993.9 Hpa at the airport.
Just as I post, the wind picks up again. Conditions certainly have eased for the moment.
So about 3.30pn today we swung into Bunnings North Parramatta.
Posted this pic on facebook saying "it must be bad out of the carpark at bunnings is empty on a Sunday"
Anyway we were in and out in 10mins....
Little did we know that the little canal at the entrance had broken over the bridge and it was almost impassable (we were in the pajero)
just an FYI on rainfall at our house in Macquarie Fields.
37mm on Saturday, 260mm so far today.
more rain in 2 days than 4 months.
wombat. This is Obs thread. I just posted same conclusion in Predictions
Edit. Tried to beat CC, but ......
Shouldn't you be out catching escaping poo?
FK, will chat to those who need to know.
Australia weather map as of now
Logged on at lunchtime. I observed the highest poo flows I've ever seen at my plant. Granted 99% will be water.
I can't disclose how it's coping, but I will say, don't go swimming for the next couple of days. You will have unwanted friends.
For this event coastal>mountain
That's insane. Love it...although anyone with colorbond on their house wont!
High tide, another rain cell coming in and it is coming down hard with wind picking up on the northern beaches. Not going to be much beach left tomorrow and flooding in Narrabeen set to get worse. An interesting night ahead and good to be up high.
At North Curly and while the last sentence is something I can agree with we are still copping it. Garage flooded, water egress all over, pain to say the least.
Out of Bondi I'm guessing @Astro66 The famous cigar.
Rain is starting back up with a fair bit more behind it.
Ah, that explains the brown colour of the ocean
I wonder if those cliff top houses are getting unwanted friends plastered on their windows.
Yeah, was a brief respite. Kicked back in here again.
Those cars parked in the street are going to be rust buckets.
More like a brown lawn.
Amazing stuff. Those homes have cliff-face sewer discharge. So rust would be the least of their issues.
The wind has swapped around to the west and yemp has dropped considerably here on noethern beaches of Sydney.
Sydney, Terry Hills radar, 128Km showing some good rotation, the low is coming down. Barometer at home now down to 993
Newcastle radar has the rotation thing happening too. Strange almost.
Gone from dead still about an hour ago .....to friggin windy, with more rain. In Manly
What? They Shit directly into the water? Sydney Water have alot to answer for. When we first moved to the Northern Beaches and you could look out from the headland at North Curl Curl and look at the brown plume flowing from North Head it was disgusting. Cannot understand why Shit is not not treated and pumped west as useable water.
Been looking at that. Very cool.
Actual levels in the lake have dropped except for the area where it meets the ocean. Waves reforming in Lake and breaking over Ocean St, tide is on way out so long as rain stays away the worst is over.
Hopefully but the rain has just intensified.
Mate it's not Sydney Water. Residents won't allow streets to be dug up to connect them. Their lawyers are the heaviest hitters in Oz.
Back on topic. Heavy rain just returned after let up for a couple of hours in Eastern Suburbs.
Give it an hour or two hopefully although it looks like more to spin in yet.
Welcome to cyclone country Sydney siders.
Only if they are also charging them for sewer service at the same rate as the others who utilise the treatment plant
Otherwise your bone is with the govt
Hotham down to 3.7
The fist of fury coming out of the bite is starting to draw the tropical feed as it passes Tassie
Surf's up in the lake. Taken right on high tide.
Apparently 2 houses along Collaroy Beach have been consumed by the sea.
That king tide is going to leave a mess in a few places. Whitewater on the esplanade at Terrigal.
Small bit of footage of Collaroy here.
1974 eat yer heart out.
Although list '74 Bilgola had no sand (like, none, just rocks), and water was washing up on the front door of the Studios on Palm Beach road.
wind now WSW in the Gong.
If something gets bowled over it will be interesting to see of Council let it be rebuilt. Then who'd insure it.
Tweed Heads has had 330mm rainfall today according to Weatherzone
... Mt Buller is -0.1c
