Katabatic winds at Cabramurra?

Cabramurra wind data from sunset to 11pm today

Note the steady increase in wind speed and the unchanging wind direction. Meanwhile, Thredbo AWS (not far away and exposed) has been registering very light breezes (0-10km/h) over the same period.

What's going on here? Is the Cabramurra AWS situated on the side of a large hill above a valley? i.e. could there be (katabatic) winds running downslope as a temperature inversion sets up?

snow cams were running last night wonder if that has anything to do with winds picking up?
Might be blowing straight at instruments

Interesting to see if snow is still around this afternoon snow making is more than likley only cooling ground up there atm.

Cabramurra AWS wouldn't be at Selwyn Snowfields, it would be at Cabramurra, probably up near the radio tower behind the village.

BTW, winds at Cabramurra can be nothing like anywhere else in the mountains, Cabra is on the Western Face of the range.

I was at Cabra once when it went from nothing to over a foot settled overnight. Uni cross country club. We made a 'snowman'

in the footy pitch.
But conditions were matched in Selwin which was not far away.

I think it is directly behind the lookout on top of the hill above Cabramurra
