We need a Mogul mogul, stat!

Please tell me the mogul recipe and production is part of the non-negotiable deal!

Or does this mean I'll have to stock up on trays of mogul?!

And buy a warehouse full of freezers to store them all in?!?

    Joisus.

There is a residence downstairs that could be used as commercial space instead to increase seating.
Paywave EFTPOS there would attract more people to the place.
Perhaps open during weekends in summer and encourage some MTB rides to summit too to take in the views south while having lunch with a summer menu.

    Glad to hear it.
Hadn't noticed, I'm used to taking cash there.
I have mentioned it a few times there over a few seasons, am sure others did too.

Most the bikes don't go near Koflers, as there are no bike trails higher then Spurs.

There is a constant flow of cars that drive up to Buller in summer, all the way to
the summit car park, they get out, if the weather is ok, walk around in a circle
and drive back down the mountain. If Koflers was at the summit car park, it might
be able to make a buck. But really, it's too big a place to sell coffee and the
numbers aren't there to do much in the way of food.

The corner Store was a great asset, new last summer, it did well with the MTB
riders. It stocked some bike spares and had bikes for hire, along with light meals
and coffee. Jess and Norm (MTB Skills) did a great job managing the store, I hope
they run it again next summer.
(note the corner store was Wok Works re badge for summer)

Summer menu could just be pie and dogs + drinks from the outside window, no need to open seating inside or do meals.
If people knew they could get some snacks and drink up there before the walk back then more might do it.
If they walk up and feel like a drink and dog / pie they don't have to go back to village and can get it there and take the views in while sitting having a snack and drink.
    Also has toilets up there.

Brainstorming the future of Koflers just seems odd - I can't imagine the place without Bob & Crew.

Any new operator would be well advised to not muck with the winning formula too much, if at all.

I'd be happy to waitress for minimum wages.

. . . Only thing is, when it arrives to the customer, I couldn't guarantee more than half a mogul on the plate.

He loves a chat so lots of people have met him.
I used to dish pig on weekends at lunch for Bob now and then.

Bhaahaa, err, that wasn't quite the sort of moguls I meant!
I meant I'd be eating the apricot moguls before they would arrive to the customer.

Good thing the mountain is privately held.

If it was a public listing - share value would likely fall due to exit of Bob from hill.

I mean why would you ride Buller if Kofflers stop selling those cookies?

    Just not cricket without Bob

Bob and his family are legends they deserve the status. I worked and lived at koflers for a few years. Can we make sure Bob or the Flemings get recognised on the mountain in future? A lift or run is the least!

as much as it's an institution, from a business point of view, it's just another 8 week business that has to have numbers that stack up. Probably the LBS Hut and Resi site in the Village represent the greatest ROI. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. I know a number of people have thrown up the idea of getting a consortium together.

Personally CM - I think we should convince Drew to buy it and turn it into an exclusive club.....:out:
