I'm putting my money where my mouth is, putting my neck on the line, whatever you want to call it - I'm calling for snow, lots of it, next weekend - 6th & 7th July.

No excuse next year TeleXC. It is not so much skiing against the National Team, as skiing with the National Team. Plenty of 'ordinary' skiers involved, including parents of junior squad skiers, Marysville's Chief of Police, Lake Mountain staff and Kevin Tory, organiser of the Victorian Ski Chase, a handicap series based on nine citizen ski events throughout the season. Nice prizes and a handicap system designed to give everyone a fair chance at glory. Full details at http://ausxc.com/2013/06/16/victorian-ski-chase-2013/

Nice choice for a first race. Always a good event at the Pub to Pub and the opportunity for a bit of socialising at the Dinner Plain Pub while waiting for the presentations is a bonus. And you can always come back for more later in the month at Falls Creek with the Rocky Valley Rush on the 18th and either the 21km or 7km at the Hoppet on the 24th.
