Lake Mountain's looking good. They haven't updated their website today, but the snow cam at Gerratys is looking very nice. But given that there's no base, it won't hang around for long. I'd recommend the next few days as the last gasp for a decent ski this season.

That doesn't just look good. It looks "I think I'll drop everything and drive up now." :woohoo:

    Geez, I'm tempted.

Yes. And all skis are waxed. Next door never waxes. And we have giraffes (which can be hired) [IMG]

Good to see a hirer keeping up with BC trends as they happen.

Raury, surely the giraffe is a BC fixture... no, an institution, rather than some mere piffling trend.

Well, yes, I suppose giraffes should be an institution, though with the number of people that flirt with capybara and Caribou, there is a danger of fragmentation within the ranks.

Time for a new standard to be set? Lines drawn in the snow and all that?

I can vouch for the new Narbethong ski hire, maybe it will force the place next door to improve the quality of their gear as well. However Teckel may be telling fibs about the giraffes. I asked a month ago and they didn't have any in stock.

Just heard - the road from Marysville to Lake Mountain is closed - power lines down and cleaning up the trees that are dangerously leaning over the road. Cars could get up there earlier today, but it was very dangerous to do so. Apparently Marysville suffered badly during the storm. Just going there now to check it out. And Bogong, there are 2 giraffes in stock - you must have asked the wrong person [IMG]
