Just had a fun weekend at Perisher, but haven't been in a few years and had a few observations. Why do lifts only open at 8.30 (most at 9) still? With the thousands of people trying to get on the lifts at open time wouldn't starting at 7-7.30 like they do at busy periods overseas make sense? I know they have the first tracks at Blue Cow on weekends but that's a bit of a rort. When spending $150+ per day I think opening some more terrain early would offer a great guest service - like Hotham do by opening Heavenly at 7.30am when its busy. The parking for those not at the mountain by 9 (parking 10-15 mins drive from the resort, wtf?) is clearly a nightmare but I don't imagine there is much that the resort can do to address that. Its a function of the epic pass/aldi effect. Skiing is now accessible to everyone.
