Extreme long shot I know but last week I lost a ski on the Hotham side of the Razorback about 3km from Diamantina Hut. It's a Line SFB and was last seen heading for the creek at great velocity. If by some miracle you come across it the bounty starts at a case of your favourite beverage and can be negotiated upwards from there!

Best of luck getting your ski back.
I fear it belongs to the ski gods now and is in ski heaven.

I reckon you could buy a new set of skis for the cost of a case of Grange, but I understand there may be sentimental value ....

    Good luck getting it back.

More than a few years ago, a guy lost his two way radio and @Doonks thought he might have found it.
After a couple of phantom radio calls for fresh towels to be delivered and a visit to the pub and a case of mistaken identity it wasnt the right radio.
Was extremely entertaining set of events.

Lucky it was only the ski and not you straight lining down to the creek. Will keep a look out late Sept when i plan to do some razorback day trips.

Thank you all, I agree a reunion is unlikely but it would be remiss not to ask!

Once snow melt starts and the bush appears it’s difficult to find anything. My son lost a camera on Bogong - we knew the approximate area, but no way...

You are lucky its a ski.

If it was a runaway snowboard you’d be copping grief here rather than support LOL

No au contraire, we would hate to see the backcountry littered with perfectly good bookshelves that are well out of place.

Just like we are disappointed when people leave their rowing machines on mountains for no good reason.

Didn't that almost end up with Queensberry Rules being observed?

I lost a snow shoe extension at Mt.Stirling some years ago and the Ski Patrol found it for me the following season. That was a needle in a haystack kind of thing and I got the piece of equipment back. I could not believe it. You could go down to the Diamantina river in November and look around for the ski.
