Sat pic is nice. Wind is picking up and has a cold vibe. Winter has arrived much to the delight of some.
Thought it was a bit chilly while collecting firewood this morning. Not that I'm expecting snow at Lofty from this system at all but if the temp drop with the SW swing is good enough I might just head up there for a sit outside in the chill with my thermos.
hotham temps on the rise, but timing could be the degree or 2 of difference always good when the pre-frontal northerly is cold in melbs
Looks to be around the border with Portland dropping a couple of degrees in the last few hours. I think we will see Mt William drop soon as it is just getting some moisture now. Temps look better than I expected so bring it on!
Good idea - I need to staple some sort of fabric hem around the desk so the warmth doesn't come out the back/sides.
Mine is an oil heater the full width of my desk, but my office is an ininsulated warehouse.....brrr.... Back on topic, light rain here, was chilly when I popped out to get lunch
Its looking pretty dark to the south and west of my place and wind began to get quite gusty but not more rain in the last two hours. There is some interesting looking stuff developing on radar about an hour off.
Temps have dropped a couple of degrees at Perisher and Thredbo in the last hour. Top of Thredbo in the negatives now.
Been steady light rain in Mt Waverley for about 40 minutes. Cold outside too. I picked a great day to forget my umbrella!
those snow cams are saying "wet "......in NE and Buller/Baw Baw and Lake Mt so far.... with only a tiny bit lying on ground.....
Pretty wet down Ocean Grove this arvo for wander on the beach, heavy down-pours all the way to foot of Dandenongs. Buddy in Adelaide said it was super chilly and wet today, winter is arriving. Charts look real nice IMO, agree with all here, unstable, embedded, sheer and complex little cutoff with cold pool and ok moisture. Bring on ground cooling event #1.... All seasons start with a first sprinkle, lets hope the guns can blast and get a base happening early next week when the high ridges in. Go Olympic year season, go! Winter shades of grey... Kinda wet and gloomy, just how we like it
Passive cellar temp has dropped considerably in last few days Every year this coincides with the first decent snow, usually a week or so before Hope this year reinforces the trend!
Cams are dark, TBo is in the negatives, I'm just here *waiting hopefully* for some pics of the white stuff from those of in the thick of it.. Sydney eastern subs, cool, smokey air, but stars still visible.
Have a build going up there atm and today was a ripper reminder of how it feels to have winter round the corner
Going to be great to watch over the next few days. Flying to Melbourne in the morning so expecting to feel the cold. Radar looks grand! More pics people.
