Pretty wet down here at Flinders.
Edit: and a pretty nice sunset afterwards....
Mild and sunny in Glen Iris ....bit of outside painting completed this morning.
Is this rain early?
Wonder if it will stop us getting to 30°C +.
I don't think it was expected at all.
Very strong winds on Westernport.
And on Port Phillip as well.
Had pretty much everything on the morning ride to Kinglake.
Calm and cool conditions to start, rapidly warming up, heavy rain in St Andrews, blowing a gale at the top of Kinglake, more rain in St Andrews, back to warm and sultry back in the 'burbs.
Yah she bloowy out
Unfortunately blowey and dry.. looking like a,dry week as,well. Will be really browning off this time next week. Where's our LaNina?
Been a crazy day weather wise. Waking up to the south of light rain wasn't expected. Quite a cool blowy morning and I wasn't expecting it would warm up as much as predicted.
Random periods of strong, gusty winds this arvo and it certainly did warm up. We were down in the protected ravine of shiprock falls when the wind even hit us there. Drove home and had some big spots of rain. Had one flash of lightning and a rumble and then that was it. Still very warm out.
Was breezy but Cicadas were dominant here earlier this evening but definitely replaced by wind gusts now
Still windy and 24c, crazy!
Nice fast moving cell actually incoming now from the northwest.
Very warm and at times windy night with little rain. Lost power around midnight and the outage tracker shows plenty of others similarly affected in the hills. Not expected back until late today..
At least it has cooled off.
Was ready for it to go out last night but we didn't lose it. Suns still got a bite this morning but much cooler and the wind is slowly abating.
Horrendous night with it being 30c and howling at 3am.
Bugger all rainfall.
Yep had the AC running all night.
Warm and windy this morning, cooler than yesterday but the sun has that summer kick to it when directly in it.
Yeh woke up at 3am and it was stinking hot and blowing. Had to turn the a/c on.
Much more pleasant this morning.
Lots of trees and large branches down observed on the ride this morning.
Plenty of uprooted trees and broken branches along my commute.
We think our fridge objected to all the power glitches last night, won't run from generator
LaNina where art thou ?

MJO (major source of moisture) being on the wrong side of the globe would help to explain the dry.
Messy synoptics but appears that some wet stuff will fall late Sunday into Monday.
Enjoy the next 72 hours of spring sunshine tho!
Beautiful day today.
I think the GFS has had a couple of beers
I’m often a better shot after a couple of beers.
Outside chance of some storms in the far south west of the state this afternoon.
Better chance tomorrow as per that GFS plot above.
Haven't found today as bad as a couple of days last week that were also in the extreme rating
Well it certainly was warm today. Still 25c here.
Escaped to Phillip Island for the day where it was at least a little cooler.
How good is it to be free.
A warm spell is on the way for N/E Victoria.
Currently 35C in Wodonga, not much cooler here.
Seems a bit smokey but and I checked and there one going on in Harrietville.
Warmer weather to come.
Some pic of the local wildlife taken through my backscreen door.
No obstacles for roos....and snakes.
And good old Mt Bogong, note the tinge of smoke.
Shaping up to be a noisy Sunday/Monday!
Tomorrow starting to look ok.
Fingers crossed we finally get something
EC wants 20-25mm for the Metro over the next few days.
Some decent falls for Gippsland.
GFS gives a lot less.
ACCESS G and GFS looking at an epic heatwave next weekend.
Yeah, looks horrific. Mildura's November Max temp record of 45.5c set in 2012 might get broken. Even Access-G has 45c here. If Dan Andrews still mandates masks in Vic after tomorrow, he can go and get lost.
GFS 18z has very heavy rain in the week afterwards to cool things down. La-Nina finally arriving?
19.9C currently in Bright and Tawonga South.
Forecast to get to 36C this afternoon.
The fire in Harrietville from yesterday is deemed under control.
Yeh this wet La Niña spring has been missing
I'll stick with OCF for both rainfall and temp.
Probs 15mm for metro Melbs and 42c for NW Vicco next Friday/Saturday.
Few spots of rain in the eastern burbs.
Forecast to be 37C up here tomorrow and generally around N/E Victoria.
A hot one.
Followed by thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.
Should be a good lightning show on Mt Bogong.
Hopefully, there's rain with it.
Checked the CFA website, nothing on the go yet.
Very steamy out there. PWVs into the 40mm range which is very promising for heavy rain.
Oh and the first snake spotted on the property (this spring). Juvenille tiger, quite docile.
Grey overcast dull.
I feel we will need some clear air and warm sun to fire anything up today
My thoughts too.
Looking at the radar the rains a bit closer than I expected.
Cloud Cover chart for 1600 - We get no clearance today (unfortunately)
Storm chart for today, uninspiring for southern folk.....our turn overnight into tomorrow.
Looking at a noisy night again. Bummer I really love a good afternoon storm.
