EC still showing a fair bit of rain from tonight into Tuesday.
After what we saw today, I'm fair from convinced about that.

See what happens with the stuff heading towards Geelong from the SW. If that does something we might get some more

Nice drop from the system, 18mm last night and 13 so far today. Local forest looks all the more fabulous for it. Humidity is off the charts but.

GFS thinks most of it will end up over Gippsland rather than the metro area.
Cranny / Pakenham will probably be pretty damp. I guess Mt Dandenong and surrounds too.

It's incredible weather. Apparently Kennet River campground has been evacuated. That could be apocryphal campground rumours though

I can't see anything here in the next 2-3 weeks tbh. The weak La-Nina is about as effective as an El-Nino in our summers.

In fact all I see is a nasty heatwave in mid-January. We could see temps in mid-40s here.

This humidity in Melbourne isn't something i've felt down here for a long time, feels more like Brisbane.

    Everything just feels wet.

Murky, drizzly day (or two) ahead for southern Vicco.
Instability still remains, but further east, so a chance of storms for @doogasnow and @Big_Red_60

Well 2020 was a good year for rainfall here in outer southeast foothills.
Just over 1100mm at my place over the 12 months with April most notable with 210mm. Driest month was July with tick under 50mm. All tanks overflowing today.:)

    Wet, wet, wet.
There's actually been more rain in Melbourne in the last 24 hours than over the weekend.
Still a couple of hours to go, but most of the metro area has had over 10mm

There's SWW for Gippsland for those that didn't notice.

    Severe Weather Warning
    for HEAVY RAINFALL
For people in East Gippsland, West and South Gippsland and parts of North East Forecast Districts.

Issued at 5:37 am Tuesday, 5 January 2021.

Persistent rainfall leading to possible high totals and flash flooding risk over Gippsland.

Weather Situation: A broad trough over eastern Victoria will drift into the Tasman Sea during Tuesday, directing a very moist onshore flow across Gippsland.

HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING may occur through most of Gippsland and the southern parts of the Eastern Ranges today.

Rainfall totals of around 20-40mm over 12 hours are expected more broadly within the warning area, with localised totals to around 80mm about the peaks and also associated with embedded thunderstorm activity.

Rainfall should ease over the southern part of the warning area Tuesday afternoon, then elsewhere into the evening.

Locations which may be affected include Morwell, Traralgon, Sale, Moe, Bairnsdale and Orbost.

Yarram has seen 68mm of Rainfall since 9am on Monday, while 61mm has been reported at Balook within the same period.

Reporting from Coongulla, on the sunny.. shores of Lake Glenmaggie. Not so sunny atm. Glad we not camping. Heavy persistent rain for last hr, on top of intermittent heavy showers overnight. Water streaming over the sodden ground. Will be very interested to see how it affects the lake level.

Glenmaggie is an irrigation lake so probably not all that much, depends on how much they want to release at the weir. Would be good fishing to the left of the bridge (as you go up it) if the level rises.

60mm in my PWS in the first 5 days of 2021. That's Jan's average done. Very wet rain overnight (if that makes sense, easiest way to describe it is very fine droplets along with standard rain droplets, soaks everything). Very much welcome this time of year.

Just light showers over the last 2 hours here. Nothing coming out the top of the weir, not sure how much comes out under. Looks like it might set in for another burst soon, sky looking dark again the SE
