Not seeing much in the way of rainfall at all for all of vic in the near future! But no real warm temps either
Melbs sitting on 24c after only reaching 27c. Outer burbs into the low to mid 30's. Rutherglen and Yarrawonga touched 40c.
I left my office here in the CBD at 1pm. By the time I jumped out of the car out at Doncaster at 2pm it was considerably and noticeably warmer
30°C here today, but seabreeze kicked in mid afternoon and knocked it back a bit. Perfect for sitting back with an ice cold VB after a day on the chainsaw.
EC / yr.no showing 10-15mm rain Friday through Saturday. GFS showing far less - up to 5mm I suspect it will be on the lower end.
Far more pleasant conditions today after hitting 35.4 yesterday. North east outskirts of Melbourne. Wind picked up around 11pm yesterdat and continued into the wee hours. Calm and still now. A brief light shower arrived around 8pm-ish, misty cloud creating a golden glow around us. Those clouds cleared before sunset at which time the sun peered out through its Venetian blinds to see whether they’d deliver any more drink for the dusty ground. No such luck but a light mist hanging around this morning. Actually a few light drops as I type this at the moment. Barely enough to dampen the ground but very welcome
Agree with @Claude Cat, system is moisture starved so anything over 5mm will be a bonus. This summer is really spluttering. Bugger all heat, not a heap of rain or storms.
None of the models look really interested in anything for the next 10 days for Vic as far as rain/storms go Hoping those troughs will dip South and link up but no one is currently interested from what I can see.
Beautiful cool sunny morning with light n-westerly. Some light rain not far off. Used a lot of rain water over the last week and a half, so a few mm at least would be useful. Are BOM being a bit ambitious with their forecast of possible storms later?
I'd say its a little ambitious, low levels of CAPE/Instability present this afternoon. Be lucky to get anything interesting.
Yeah not sure either about the thunder chance snowy? Some places that get the full brunt of the sw air stream might push 10mm if where lucky imo Maybe up through the Dandenong rangers ect Can’t really see to much more than that falling?
Not sure where the TS will come from today, but who knows. Was a lovely morning, sun was warm, perfect for a morning exercise, turned to shit now. Oh well couch and cricket, could be worse........
Just popped to the supermarket in cockatoo and got caught out. Was definitely not t-shirt weather when I came out. Home weather station says it’s now 11c.
Only the odd brief shower here in the north. Note some activity heading towards Melbourne from the west but it doesn't look too severe.
Some small but effective cells through the north of ballarat an hour ago. Plenty hail, just ‘normal’ size but enough of it, and some decent CGs. Real strong westerly with it too. Lucky my ride picked me up at just the right time
We managed to get an hours riding in this afternoon after the first band of showers. Was back to tshirt weather. Some big rumbles to the north as we saddled up but quickly checked the radar and headed out. Turned back when we heard the next band approaching. Has been rumbling on and off for the last two hours with some heavy showers and small hail. Temps down to 11c and we've had almost 5mm already.
A couple of rumbles in 3113, little bit of rain, no hail. Taken a couple of hours ago down at the footy oval.
Similar story here. Coldies coming through, think very small hail in one of them, haven’t heard any rumbles though. Blustery wind, feels like a typical winter W/SW system
Lightning and thunder again here with squally rain and hail. Looking at the radar there's some decent stuff incoming.
Today definitely surprised. I wasn’t expecting such decent coldies rolling through. If the footy was on instead of the cricket you’d almost think it was June
Cracking coldie just dumped an instant flash bang. Young fella needs to change his strides. NBN has raised the white flag.
Yup cold and woolly up here tonight, currently 8c with some hail amongst the rain at times. Surely bawbs gets a dusting
That stringy band of heavy showers heading NE has classic 'Lake effect' signature. Bay SST is on 21°C and 850mb is +2°C . Qualified.
