Wow, that was something incoming, totally feral now with horizontal rain and a temp plunge
Suns nearly out back West of you now!
Hosed down in Boronia,a bit of hail and thunder. It got me out of yard duties.
Has calmed down now.
Was servicing a pole vehicle in the back yard in Mentone and had the unit up full height at 20 metres after adding oil, loud clap of thunder I hit the air blow off to lower it fast as I could.
Aluminium pole taller than anything else for km's around is not safe in a thunder storm.
You all had a nice storm by the sounds of it!! Nothing much in the city, watched the storm crossing the bay and we got a few mm's of rain and a good temp drop.
I got all excited by it and donned a new jacket I'd been wanting to try and took off walking in the midst of it. Ten minutes later it was all over so never gave it a thorough work out.
No thunder out east but a good rain band and some impressive late afternoon structure.
Looks like there were some pre-dawn showers in the eastern 'burbs, roads were damp out our way, but the sun came out on the way to work, and it was very mild.
Tops of 19, 20 and 19 forecast, spring is here.
8.6mm in the Dandenongs from yesterday arvos storm, and the very light drizzle early this morning. The weather yesterday afternoon was marvellous. Had a house full for daughters 16th. Ended up being a garden party. Quickly packed up when I saw the radar!
Showers cleared overnight.
Glorious morning, actually got rather warm in the winter riding kit. Just about time to pack it away.
Yeah it felt so warm today, probably just because it has been so long.
Definitely feel those spring vibes coming along with the increase in temperature.
Rain showers rolling through southern and central 'burbs of Melbourne.
Quite a heavy one just now in Canterbury.
Yep. A heavy one here in Box Hill too.
Beautiful morning out there today. Expecting some rain and hopefully a storm later.
I'm flying up to Brisbane tonight for the weekend so will miss tomorrow & Saturday's fun down here.
Big change in temp coming up, from Falls Creek last weekend, to 34 degrees in Brisbane tomorrow!
Just a trace of rainfall last night as the activity stayed just a touch south.
Awoke this morning to a real pea souper, which burnt off soon after 8am.
No fog out our way. Roads were wet, but absolutely clear.
Still a fair chill in the air, but it's warmed up pretty quickly.
Had fog in the Dandenongs yesterday morning, none today.
4.7mm from last nights rain. Beautiful warm spring day again today, no sign yet of what’s to come.
From a hazy morning:
To a cracking afternoon:
Radar show isolated showers moving into the west of the city.
Can't see anything too heavy until tonight (at best).
It's currently 21C outside. Been quite a number of months since we hit that temp. I'm guessing back in May.
Severe TS Warning in effect for SW VIC , around Cape Otway.
Warrnambool dogs delayed, probs due to same storm a little while back.
Edit: Storm dropped near on 10mm at the Bool, and looks quite organised on radar....
Incoming for the Surf Coast.... Radar and lighting tracker is LIT AF:
5mm to 0900hrs locally. Black as dogs guts to my east all morning.
Best falls in SW and West/Central Gippsland.
Seemed mostly to miss us to the NE overnight.
Was quite dark in the morning, but no rain.

Guys, do we have a database of people's PWS's that are on wunderground or other sites? Would people be interested in sharing theirs, or will giving away locations be unacceptable?
Loads out there for the taking - Davis & Accurite (WeatherUnderground) are the main players...
If they're not on there they prolly don't want to be found.
After a nice morning, the rain has really closed in this afternoon.
3mm since about 1pm here in Canterbury.
Solid 5 minute hail shower just finished with sun out to the east.
Pretty brutal this morning.
Thought the roof of the garage was going to come off, just as I was jumping on the bike.

Little wind out in the Upper Yarra, cold and very wet though, 4.5 deg at back door. Yarra River has broken its banks again.
Few trees down about outer NE burbs, including a couple in Healesville, just before heading into the Spur.
Cold and overcast this morning. The cloud level seems to be burning off now, occasional sunshine.
Lots of people at work complaining how cold it is and that it's not very "spring like".
I'm fighting the urge to yell at them that it's not like a switch is turned on and BAM it's spring.
Are they the same people that will piss and moan when the heat ramps up?
Sound like Poms......
Cracker of a sunrise down at the Prom this morning. Winds eased overnight for a mostly sunny day.
Crisp, but sunny morning today.
Looks like it's going to warm up nicely.
Turned into a beautiful day. Actually a touch warm in the sunshine, wind is blowy though. Spring is definitely in the air
Very artistic clouds this morning
Rained heavily twice, each time for about 30 seconds!
Very mild, 14.5C at home, winds quite blustery.
Strong flows down at Warrandyte. These take late Tuesday evening. Tracks right next to the river submerged.
Some heavy showers popping up from no where!
very convective development.
Just needed surface temps to be 3-4 degrees higher and it would've been "interesting"..
1412hrs - Single rumble of thunder from cell punching thru towards Lilydale.
Few showers passing through the city. Nothing exciting.
Lots of bolts on the hills / ranges to the NE of Melbourne now from those showers that have gone through.
Really blew up as it hit the Kinglake / Healsville areas.
It was like really heavy here in Box Hill for about 5 minutes.
