This last full week of Summer featured warm conditions and--finally--a nice raindump. Rainfall was courtesy of the remnants of Tropical Depression (TD) Imelda drifting over my area; the rain was very refreshing and welcome, after the recent dry spell. The day felt very chilly as well.
Although this summer has been fairly warm overall; it'll be another summer/year where Mena fails to reach the 100F/37.7C-mark (I really don't consider it a "proper" summer unless we have at least 1 day of at least 100F/37.7C).
Overall High-12:01AM-listed for the 20th (the Daytime High was 71F/21.1C--around 4PM).
Forecast for the upcoming week calls for cooler temperatures and showery early-week followed by somewhat warmer temperatures and drier.

For your viewing pleasure; here's the Doppler Radar Loop for the US for the year 2017:
(Day, Month, Year & CST in upper left corner of vid; areas outlined in yellow are areas of Severe Thunderstorm Watches; areas outlined in red are areas of Tornado Watches). The Doppler of Hurricane Harvey is visible starting August 25th; beginning Sept. 9th, you can see the Doppler of Hurricane Irma & beginning Oct. 7th, you can see the Doppler of Hurricane Nate.

This past week featured mainly warm highs & some good & very welcome rainfall. Shower activity on the 23rd & 24th was due to a Stationary front in the vicinity & rain on the 26th was due to passage of a Canadian cold front. Autumn/Fall officially arrived here in the NH on the 23rd. Personally, I'm enjoying the warmth as much as I can, as the cooler weather will be here before too much longer (not really enjoying the increasingly shorter daylight time--as of the 28th, Mena's sunset was at 7:07PM).
The Maximum on the 23rd was at 12:01AM & around 3:30PM (truly felt like an Autumn day).
Forecast for the upcoming week calls for early-week warmth, followed by good shower chances and somewhat cooler temperatures from midweek.

Another warm week; the rain was in an AM thundershower as a Pacific cold front passed through. The daylong cloudcover & dampness felt somewhat chilly compared to the heat & humidity of previous days. Otherwise, it was a warm & somewhat humid week.
Overall High-12:01AM-listed for the 4th (the Daytime Maximum was 69F/20.5C around 5PM; saw some sunshine late day PM).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for PM thundershowers today (Sunday) with a bit of a cool down & more of a cool down with more good shower chances late-week; as the weather-pattern becomes more active as the seasons change.

Rain was courtesy of a couple Pacific cold fronts: passage late PM on the 6th & late PM on the 11th. The front on the 11th was stronger & had a fair bit of colder Canadian air with it. Quite a few close lightning strikes with that front & one close strike knocked out power to my area of town for just over an hour (from 8:58-10:01PM)--we don't often lose power here from such causes. That front hit (moving very slowly to the SE) around 8:25PM and rain was still lightly falling by after 9AM on the 11th. The 11th was chilly & cloudy with WNW/NNW breezes and falling temperatures; skies mostly cleared just after 12NOON allowing the temperatures to warm somewhat. The clear skies & lower humidities allowed for patchy frost in the area and below freezing lows the following morning. The morning low on the 12th was the first freezing minimum since a low of 30F/-1.1C last April 2nd--a span of 193 days.
The lessening daylight hours & cooler temperatures will accelerate the color-change on the area tree leaves. The ample rain was great to have & most of the rainfall soaked right into the ground, due to the recent dryspell.
Overall Low-abt. 11:40PM-listed for the 6th (the morning low was 64F/17.7C); Overall Low-abt. 11:45PM-listed for the 7th (the morning low being 52F/11.1C); Overall Low-abt. 11:45PM-listed for the 10th (during the thundershower; the morning low was a balmy & humid 67F/19.4C); Overall High-12:01AM & Overall Low-around 11:40PM-listed for the 11th (the morning low fell to 42F/5.5C and the Daytime High rebounded to 55F/12.7C around 4PM).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for showers early-week and another shot of cooler air, followed by rebounding temperatures and better shower chances by the weekend.

For your viewing pleasure, here's the Doppler Timelapse of the US Weather in 2015: (You can see the Doppler Tracks, starting May 6 with Tropical Storm Ana [off of SC] and starting on June 15th with Tropical Storm Bill [I copped a total of 2.55"/64.7mm rain from the remnants of this storm]). Sadly, I was unable to post the cloudloops of the 2015 Atlantic Basin storms vid here.

This past week featured coolish mornings and pleasant afternoons; with overall scant cloudcover on many of the days. Thundershowers on the 15th were from a Warm Front in the AM (gusty & warm SW winds), followed by the trailing Pacific Cold Front in the early PM hours. Humidity levels dropped the next few days, after passage of this front. Otherwise, a fairly unremarkable mid-October week.
Overall Low-around 11:50PM-listed for the 15th (as the Morning Low was a warm 63F/17.2C); Overall Low-around 11:25PM-listed for the 16th (Morning Low of 48F/8.8C).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for good thundershower chances early-week, followed by more good shower chances & downward trending temperatures from midweek.

This past week featured a fairly warm start & a cool and showery finish. Rain early-week was from passage of a Pacific cold front; rain late-week was from passage of another--rather slow-moving--Pacific cold front (the Upper-Level Low vortex tracked over my area on the 25th; the showers ended early AM on the 26th). The conditions were made chillier by (at times gusty) E & NE winds.

This past week featured a warm start & a cooler finish. A dry & weak Canadian cold front passed through on the 5th; the large rain event/thundershowers was from passage of a Pacific cold front, early AM on the 7th. Personally, I like to hear thunder & I was glad to hear it then, as thunder is something we don't hear much of in our Wintertime.
The 7th was a day of falling temperatures: Overall High-12:01AM is listed (Daytime High was 57F/13.8C at the 6:42AM sunrise) & the Overall Low-around 11:40PM is listed.
We actually had rain twice on the 6th: 0.50"/12.7mm in a thundershower that hit just after 6AM and then .90"/22.8mm more rain in a late PM thundershower (not often do we get rain twice in a day here).
Forecast for the upcoming week calls for a good shot of colder air (good rainchances) early-week, followed by sunny conditions and recovering temperatures. This coming Canadian cold front is set to break cold-weather records in much of the eastern US.
Tomorrow--Monday--is the Veterans Day holiday here in the US. I have Much Love & Respect For The Soldiers/Troops, Past & Present. I Thank Them All For Their Service A Give Them All A Big *Salute*!

This past week saw the first really cold shot of air for the season, as a fairly powerful Canadian cold front passed through on the 11th. The 11th was a day of falling temperatures--cloudy with AM rain--and the N breezes saw Wind Chills dip to near 10F/-12C that night; a couple chilly days followed. The rest of the week was mostly sunny with rebounding temperatures. The windy conditions caused even more leaves to fall off the trees (hence, why Autumn is often referred to also as "Fall" in the US). Quite a number of local trees are almost devoid of leaves now.
Overall High-12:01AM-listed for the 11th (the Daytime Maximum was 55F/12.7C at the 6:46AM sunrise--the shallow & heavy airmass oozed slowly through my area [the nearby mountains slowing the southward progression of the cold air], hence, the temperature drop was steady (aided by somewhat gusty N/NW winds) instead of a sharp drop. Overall Low-around 11:30PM-listed for the 11th.
On the morning of the 12th, the small town of Pocahontas (Randolph County) fell to a low of 7F/-13.8C & on the morning of the 13th, the small town of Salem (Fulton County) recorded a morning low down to 10F/-12.2C.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for warmer early-week conditions followed by a cooler & showery finish.

The first half of the week featured warmish conditions with almost cloudless skies, while the last half was cool & showery. Thundershower/shower activity was ahead and upon the passage (on the 22nd) of a slow-moving Pacific cold front. Quite a bit of fog (and drizzle) in the early PM hours of the 22nd. The windiness took more leaves off the area trees. Personally, was great to hear the thunder on the 21st--don't know how many more times I'll get to hear it before the coldness of Winter really sets in.
The high on the 21st was around 1PM and around 11:20PM; the 22nd was a day of falling temperatures: Overall High-12:01AM is listed (the Daytime High was 47F/8.3C at the 6:57AM sunrise); Overall Low-around 10:45PM is listed.
Forecast for the coming week calls for a similar up-and-down temperature profile, with showery conditions from mid-week.
This Thursday is the Thanksgiving Day holiday here in the US. I'm Thankful to JESUS for Many things, including the Wonderful Friends (Aussie & otherwise) on this Wonderful Forum. GOD Bless Each Of You! I'm Very Thankful to be here.

The past week featured plenty of rain and fairly variable temperatures. Rainfall was due to Low-pressure to our South--the counter-clockwise circulation moving huge quantities of Gulf moisture over my area; a Warm front, followed soon after by the trailing Pacific cold front came through on the 30th. Clouds, light rain & foggy conditions caused a nighttime temperature rise on the 29th.
The 28th (Thanksgiving Day) was very raw, rainy & with little temperature movement. The warmer days--the afternoons of the 24th-26th & 30th--felt like Springtime days; bright sun & warm S winds. All in all, not bad temperatures here for late-November (a bit over 3 weeks of Autumn/Fall left here in the NH).
Overall Low-around 11:40PM-listed for the 26th (the Morning Low was a balmy 62F/16.6C); Overall High-12:01AM-listed for the 27th (the Daytime High was 51F/10.5C around 12:40PM); Overall High-12:01AM-listed for the 28th (the Daytime High was 42F/5.5C at the 7:00AM sunrise); Overall High (nighttime temperature rise)-around 10:30PM-listed for the 29th (the Daytime High was 50F/10.0C around 5PM); Overall Low-around 11:30PM-listed for the 30th (the Morning Low was a warm 63F/17.2C).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for warmer temperatures with mostly dry conditions and a slight cooldown later in the week.

This past week featured a cooler start & somewhat warmer finish. A Pacific cold front passed through on the 6th; there were scattered & spotty showers around, but managed to miss my area (heavier shower activity in NW/N & Central Arkansas). The conditions are still fairly mild for this part of late-Autumn (Winter officially arrives here in the NH on the 22nd); I even saw a fly on the 4th & not all of the songbirds have migrated south yet.
Overall Low-around 11:30PM--listed for the 6th (the Morning Low was a warm 55F/12.7C).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for cooler conditions early-week (we are forecasted to possibly see AM rain/snow showers on Tuesday), with recovering temperatures afterwards.

Scant rainfall this past week was brought by the passage of a Warm front (a nighttime temperature rise) on the 8th, followed by the trailing Pacific cold front on the 9th. The 10th was a raw day with cool, damp conditions aided by a chilly WNW wind. The balance of the week was marked by a return to near-normal maximums. Otherwise, a fairly unremarkable late-Autumn week.
    Overall High-around 11:45PM-listed for the 8th (Daytime High was around 46F/7.7C-about 4:20PM); Overall Low-around 11:20PM-listed for the 9th (the Morning Minimum was a balmy, pre-frontal 55F/12.7C); Overall Low-around 11:10PM-listed for the 10th.
Forecast for upcoming week, calls for--once again--rainchances and a cool-down early-week, followed by rebounding temperatures and mostly dry conditions.

This last full week of Autumn (Winter officially arrives on the 22nd) featured fairly typical temperatures with just a little rainfall. Light showers were from a Warm Front that passed on the 15th--quite foggy at times in the PM hours--and the trailing Pacific Cold Front passed through--a bit more scattered showers--on the 16th. Otherwise, mostly sunny skies dominated.

This past week featured somewhat warmer-than-normal temperatures, and at times, the afternoons felt muggy and a bit Spring-like. The 22nd was the first official day of Winter here in the US/NH. I'm enjoying the warmth while we have it, as the colder temperatures will be here--and settle in--soon enough. The shower-total was from a nearing Pacific cold front (passage early AM on the 29th). The atmosphere was so volatile that my part of Arkansas was under a Tornado Watch (until 10PM on the 28th); not that usual to have such watches so late in the year. The thundershower line was fairly thin when it came through my area & I did not even hear a thunder rumble. The warmth & humidity were aided by warm & moist S breezes. My area of the US will continue to enjoy warmer weather as long as the Jet Stream stays to our North.

Wednesday, December 25, 2019: Merry Christmas! Conditions at 12:01AM at Mena's Intermountain Municipal Airport: Foggy; Visibility: 1.25mile; Ceiling: 700FT; Temperature: 42F/6C; Dew Point: 42F/6C; Wind: Calm; Barometer: 29.98"/1,015.2hPa
48 Contiguous US State High Maximum: 84F/28.8C--Falfurrias, Texas
48 Contiguous US State Low Minimum: -13F/-25.0C--Copper Basin (RAWS), Idaho

Forecast for upcoming week calls for closer-to-normal temperatures and the best shower chances will be mid-week. May Your 2020 Be The Best & Most-Blessed Year You've Ever Had!

Kind Wishes~~~Take Care & GOD Bless!

This past week featured seasonal temperatures; the light raintotals were due to the passages (on the 29th & early AM on the 3rd) of a couple Pacific cold fronts. Most of the days featured very sunny skies.
    Overall High-12:01AM & Overall Low-around 11:30PM-listed for the 29th (Morning Low was 49F/9.4C & Daytime High was 52F/11.1C-around 2:30PM); Overall Low-around 11:45PM-listed for the 3rd (Morning Low was 48F/8.8C).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for a bit warmer-than-normal high temperatures with thundershower chances and another cool-down by late-week. Still no really cold air to hit us yet.

This first full week of 2020 featured a continuation of mild temperatures (close to 10F above average), with a good raindump & a round of severe weather at weeks' end.
A dry Pacific cold front passed through on the 6th. Shortly afterwards, the winds became more Southerly and pumped vast amounts of Gulf moisture over my area of the US. Showers on the 9th were from a Warm Front not far to our South. The trailing Pacific cold front passed through late PM on the 10th & spawned a few twisters and fairly high winds, plus lots of close lightning--more like a Springtime set-up. The thundershowers began around 5:30PM on the 10th--and just before 7:30PM, the E part of Polk County was under a Tornado Warning, as Doppler Radar indicated a rotating cell near Cossatot River State Park (SSE of Mena), moving NE (so Mena was not impacted by this); I do not think a Tornado actually formed. The thundershowers finally ended around 1:30AM on the 11th--not often do we have thunder for 8 straight hours (this line was fairly wide & slow-moving). The showers ended as a time of light sleet (frozen raindrops), around 1PM on the 11th. The Jet Streams stays to our North, so the weather will be cool but not as cold as it could be.
Overall Low-around 11:25PM-listed for the 6th; Overall High (nighttime temperature rise from Warm front)-12:01AM-listed for the 9th; Overall Low-around 11:40PM-listed for the 10th (the morning low was a balmy 59F/15.0C); the 11th was a day of falling temperatures: Overall High-12:01AM & Overall Low-around 11:15PM-listed for the 11th (the Daytime High was 37F/2.7C around 7:45AM).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for warm & showery weather at midweek, followed by another cool-down and dry conditions.

The past week featured warmish temperatures with plenty of cloudcover and fog. A Warm Front passed through on the 15th; a Pacific Cold front passed through on the 16th & 18th. A Low-Pressure vortex to our South--in the Gulf of Mexico--kept my area cloudy, foggy & drizzly from the 14th through 17th. Skies finally became sunny again on the 18th--we don't experience such prolonged fogginess very often here.
Overall High (nighttime temperature rise)-12:01AM-listed for the 14th; The 16th was a day of falling temperatures; Overall High-12:01AM & Overall Low-around 11:15PM (Daytime High was 50F/10.0C at the 7:23AM sunrise); The 17th saw temperatures rise throughout the day (aided by fog & warm S pre-frontal winds), the Overall High-around 11:20PM listed; Overall High-12:01AM & Overall Low-around 11:35PM-listed for the 18th (the Morning Low was 48F/8.8C & the Daytime High was 52F/11.1C around 2PM, when the cold front passed through).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for a good taste of Winter with colder temperatures and good chances for rain/freezing rain for Tuesday.

This past week featured our first real taste of wintry weather: A Pacific cold front passed early on the 23rd; very light snow, a small amount of freezing rain & mostly sleet (frozen raindrops) fell in the early AM hours of the 22nd. The sleet barely covered the ground and looked somewhat like snow. Temperatures slowly rose throughout the day and the precipitation turned into a very cold rain (which melted the frozen stuff away as the day wore on). Further showers fell early AM on the 23rd. Finally saw daylong sunshine--bringing much warmer conditions--on the 25th.
The Maximum on the 22nd was at 12:01AM & around 5PM (temperatures remaining steady overnight); Overall Low-around 11:15PM-listed for the 24th (as the Morning Low was 34F/1.1C).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for a fairly warm Monday, with a cool-down & good shower chances afterwards & recovering temperatures for the remainder of the week.

For your viewing pleasure; here's the Doppler Radar Loop for the US in 2010: Main map is Doppler Radar; upper right is Infrared Loop Map & below that is the Satellite Loop Map. You can track the Doppler signatures: Hurricane Alex--beginning June 30 (into NE Mexico); Hurricane Earl--beginning Sept. 2 (off E US); Tropical Storm Hermine--beginning Sept. 6 (Texas); I copped a total of 5.20"/132.0mm rain (Sept. 7-9) from the remnants of Hermine. I like the cool & interesting background music. (Later into the loops, the Infrared & Sat Loop Maps freeze up, but restart after a while). Date (YMD) at top of Doppler map.

This past week featured another typical up-and-down temperature profile. A Warm Front passed through--headed from S to N--on the 28th; the vortex of the Low-Pressure (trailing Pacific Cold Front), passed just to the S of my area early AM on the 29th. Low-Pressure formed along this front as it was in the N Gulf of Mexico, and the circulation around the Low kept my area of the US cloudy, cold & drizzly through the 31st. Finally had daylong clear skies--feeling warmer--on the 1st.
Overall Low-around 11:30PM-listed for the 26th; The Maximum on the 30th was at 12:01AM and around 5PM (cloudcover, drizzle & fog kept temperatures nearly steady) listed for the 30th.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for unseasonal warmth early-week, followed by showers and a good cool-down by midweek.

Here's a site which may be of interest: I've been interested in this information since around 1973. It's the Daily Highest Maximum & Lowest Minimum Temperatures in the Contiguous 48 US States: Please see,
    https://www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/archives/web_pages/discussions/archive_nathilo.php
Click in the white area in the date box, and a month box will appear, click on arrows at each side of moth box to navigate. Choose a date and then click on Get Archive. You can select more dates by clicking on PrevDay or NextDay at top. Temperatures are in degrees F. I love this site and check it often. I only wished that the archive went back further.

    Hello Friends:

Early-week Springlike warmth gave way to colder & Wintry weather midweek. A Pacific cold front passed through (large rainshield before & after the front) early AM on the 5th. The precipitation--early AM on the 6th--ended with a brief time of snow. I measured .25"/0.6CM of snow--which did not quite cover the ground (I hoped for more snow, but I'll take what we can get). Both the 5th & 6th were windy, damp & cold days. The 4th was a day of falling temperatures--Overall High at 12:01AM; the Daytime High was 60F/15.5C at the 7:13AM sunrise; Overall Low-around 11:15PM. Overall Low-around 11:15AM-listed for the 5th. Overall High-12:01AM-listed for the 6th (the Daytime High was a cold 30F/-1.1C around 2:45PM).
Finally had daylong--and felt warmer--sunshine on the 7th & 8th. Hoping for more snow before this Winter is over; but until there's a big dip in the Jet Stream (preferably to the S of my area); our temperatures will remain somewhat mild & our chances for snow really diminish. Often, in Winter, a precipitation area with cold rain will end with a brief time of sleet, freezing rain or snow (or all 3); my area was on the SW edge of the freezing precipitation area early on the 6th.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for possible thunderstorms today (Sun.) and showers through mid-week with seasonably cooler temperatures.

This past week featured mostly cool & showery conditions; saw plentiful amounts of sunshine on the 14th & 15th. The passage of a pair of Pacific cold fronts (on the 10th & 12th) were responsible for the ample rain totals. The sunshine felt warm compared to the cool dampness of the previous days. This active weather-pattern is more typical of late-Winter & early-Spring, rather than mid-Winter. Signs of a possible early-Spring abound: patches of green in area lawns, jonquils/daffodils blooming. songbirds (robins, mockingbirds, mourning doves, etc.,) returning, some trees already budding out. The morning low on the 14th was our coldest temperature of 2020 so far--a very mild Winter here (thus far), to say the least.
The 10th was a day of falling temperatures; the Maximum at 12:01AM & the Overall Minimum, around 8:25PM; The Maximum on the 13th was at 12:01AM & around 3PM & the Overall Minimum was around 11:20PM.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for early-week warmth, with showers and then downward-trending temperatures for the remainder of the week.

This past week--again--featured early-week warmth, followed by showers and cooler conditions. Thundershowers on the 18th were from passage of a Pacific cold front--it was great to hear thunder rumbles here in Winter. The rest of the week featured mostly sunny skies, albeit a bit nippy in the mornings. More signs of a possibly early Spring continue to show up--hard to believe we still have a month (officially) of Winter left here in the NH. Am enjoying the longer daylight times; as sunset here is after 6PM now.

This past week featured a cool start and middle with a very warm ending. Rainfall was due to a Warm Front to our South on the 23rd and the attending Pacific Cold Front passing through on the 24th. The precipitation ended as a period of very light snow flurries on the morning of the 26th--flurries were even falling as the clouds were breaking up in the very early PM hours.
The Warm Front--aided by warm Southerly winds--caused a nighttime temperature rise on the 23rd--as the Overall High was around 10:40PM; Overall Low-around 9:45PM-listed for the 24th (the Morning Low being a balmy 51F/10.5C); Overall Low-around 10:30PM-listed for the 25th; The 26th was a day of steady or slowly falling temperatures: Overall High was at 12:01AM (Daytime High was 37F/2.7C around 3:30PM; Morning Low was 34F/1.1C; the NW winds were fairly gusty and causing Wind Chill values below 20F/below -6C).
Forecast for upcoming week-again-calls for early-week warmth; followed by good shower chances and another shot of cooler air for the rest of the week. The weather-pattern is very active; typical of the changing seasons.

More flowers & trees are blooming and budding; the henbit (Lamium Amplexicaule) weeds are becoming more prevalent in area lawns and more patches of green grass is showing up in area lawns. It's now less than 2 weeks until the Spring Solstice here in the NH.

This last full week of Winter--Spring officially arrives here in the NH on the 20th--featured early-week warmth, a hefty amount of rain & cooler conditions at weeks' end. A Canadian cold front edged through my area on the 10th; this front retreated NE as a Warm front on the 11th. A Pacific cold front passed through on the 13th.
The excessive showery (& cloudy) weather-pattern is due to cold fronts stalling out near our area (or just to our South) and massive amounts of Gulf of Mexico moisture overriding these fronts. Low-pressures often form along the fronts to our South--the circulation pumping even more moisture over my area. The 10th-12th did feel warm & humid, despite the cloudcover and showers. Area lawns are really filling in with green grass & henbit weeds; most area trees are blooming & more flowers are showing up in area yards. This is DEF a wonderful time of the year, when everything comes back to life again.
Overall Low-around 11:25PM-listed for the 9th; Overall Low-around 11:35PM-listed for the 12th (the Morning Minimum was a balmy 62F/16.6C); The 13th was a day of slowly falling temperatures: Overall High-12:01AM is listed (Daytime Maximum was 57F/13.8C at the 7:30AM sunrise) and Overall Low-around 4:30PM-is listed.
Had some thunder rumbles with the late day PM showers on the 12th.
Forecast for the coming week calls for warmish & showery conditions to continue until drier & cooler conditions occur near the weekend.

This past week was a continuation of the cool & showery conditions of the previous week; as the weather-pattern becomes more active. The proliferation of rain was caused by cold fronts passing through and stalling out to our South with overrunning moisture flowing Northward from the Gulf of Mexico...OR...said fronts retreating NE-wards as Warm Fronts...OR...said fronts stalling out in the N parts of the Gulf of Mexico and Low-Pressure forming along those boundaries.
I recorded rain from March 9th-19th, totaling 5.55"/140.9mm of rain during that 11-day span. Not sure when we've had that many consecutive raindays here.
The 20th was the first official day of Spring here in the NH; but signs of Spring have been around for a few weeks now. I mowed most of my front yard on the 20th & would have mowed my backyard of it hadn't been so wet.
A Stationary Front was to our South on the 17th & a Pacific Cold Front passed through late PM on the 19th. Actually had rain twice on the 19th: had 0.25"/6.3mm rain in the early AM--then some peeks of sun in early PM--and then 0.30"/7.6mm rain in the thundershower line of the frontal passage.
Overall Low-around 11:30AM-listed for the 19th (the Morning Low was a warmish & humid 64F/17.7C); the 20th was a day of falling temperatures: Overall High-12:01AM-is listed (Daytime High was 55F/12.7C at the 7:21AM sunrise) and Overall Low-around 8:45PM-is listed. Finally saw good amounts of sunshine, starting early PM on the 21st.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for early-week coolness & showers; warmth in the middle of the week and then, a bit cooler later week-with thundershower chances.

    Kind Wishes--Take Care--GOD Bless~~~Wet Snow

Hello Tasmanian Devil: Good Day To You!
No, Thankfully, I'm in the Western part of Arkansas & Jonesboro (home campus of Arkansas State University) is in far NE Arkansas--roughly 217 straight-line miles (349.4 kilometers) to the NE of my town. Thankfully--despite the devastation--there have been no fatalities reported thus far.

This first full week of Spring featured a cool start & very warm finish.
Early-week showers were due to a Warm Front passing through (early AM on 23rd; warm S winds caused the temperature to rise overnight 23rd/24th); a Pacific Cold Front brought the late AM thundershower activity on the 28th. In between, there was plenty of above-normal warmth--especially for very early-Spring--accompanied by plenty of Gulf of Mexico humidity.
Overall High-around 10:30PM-listed for the 23rd; the 28th was a day of falling temperatures: Overall High--12:01AM--is listed (the Daytime High was 67F/19.4C at the 7:09AM sunrise), Overall Low--around 11:15PM--is listed.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for more seasonal temperatures with good thundershower chances early-week & late in the week.

Hello Richard (& All): Good Day To You!
The impacts in my small town are a bit less evident than they are in larger cities. COVID-19 really hasn't disrupted my life very much at all. In my daily life, I'm not around that many people (I can go days without any close human contact), and I do most all of my traveling here in my small town. I'm Very Blessed in the fact that I do not often become ill in such ways--I rarely if ever even get a cold. Almost no cases of COVID-19 in my town and--as of Friday--only around 370 cases in Arkansas with 2 deaths (thus far) reported.

Many Thanks To You (& Others) For Their Concern, Love, Care & Prayers! I Do Pray The Effects of Coronavirus Will Dissipate Very Soon--For The Wonderful Folks of Australia & Elsewhere.

    …….....4..54F/12.2C..41F/5.0C....0.70"/17.7mm

This past week featured a typical early-Spring up-and-down temperature profile, with more ample rainfall. Early-week showers were due to the previous cold front stalling-out in the N Gulf of Mexico & Low-Pressure forming along it--circulating copious amounts of deep moisture over my area of the US; a Canadian Cold Front passed through late-PM on the 3rd. Otherwise, the days were mostly pleasant, if not a bit humid-feeling.
Overall Low-around 9PM-listed for the 3rd (the Morning Low was 55F/12.7C).
The forecast for the coming week shows mostly dry conditions and fairly warm, until more good shower chances and a fair cool-down near midweek.
I was watching the (US) Weather Channel earlier today (Sunday) and they had a segment about tornadoes. In a typical year, the US has around 1,200 tornadoes, which cause an average of 70 fatalities per year, with an average tornado path of 3.5 miles/5.6 kilometers in length.

*=This was a new Record High Maximum for Date (Broke 87F/30.5C, set in 1930)

WoW! What a difference a few days make--record heat on the 8th & very chilly on the morning of the 11th (will be colder than that in the next couple of mornings)--such is the unpredictability of early-Spring.
A dry Canadian cold front passed through late PM on the 8th; light showers on the 5th were leftover rains from the previous Pacific cold front; thundershowers on the 11th were due to upper-level impulses well ahead of a Pacific cold front. The 8th felt fairly humid as well (the All-Time High April Max. for Mena is 92F/33.3C on April 18, 1987). Otherwise, the afternoons were warm, sunny & pleasant; perfect for yardwork, mowing or any other outdoor activity.
Overall Low-around 11:40PM-listed for the 9th (the Morning Low was 60F/15.5C).
We had a round of thundershowers (I copped 1.60"/40.6mm rain) earlier this (Sunday-Easter) morning; we then had a brief time of sunshine early in PM and my area could see possibly severe thunderstorms in a few hours (now 4:22PM CDT Sunday) as the back-edge of the Low-Pressure vortex crosses my area (so it looks like another rare day, when we get rain twice in a day). My area could also possibly see large hail as well; otherwise, this next week will have a cool start--it would not surprise me to see patchy frost in some places the next few mornings--with temperatures rising during the rest of the week; and mostly dry conditions.

*This Tied the Rec. Low Min. for the Date (Tied 2014 & 1983 rec.)

What a difference a week makes! From a Rec. High Maximum of 90F/32.2C on the 8th to a Rec. Low-tying Minimum on the 15th! This was a bit strange, as--before the 15th--our last freezing minimum of 2020 was back on February 29th--over a month earlier.
Early week thundershowers were due to a Warm Front (1.60"/40.6mm rain in AM hours) passing in the AM hours (then partial sunshine for a while) and a bit later, the trailing Pacific cold front passed through (giving a further .40"/10.1mm in a thundershower line around 6PM). A Pacific cold front--with mostly drizzle--passed through on the 17th. Otherwise, the days were mostly sunny and pleasant.
Overall Low-around 11:15PM-listed for the 12th (the Morning Minimum was 55F/12.7C); Overall Low-around 11:35PM-listed for the 14th; the 17th was a day of falling temperatures: Overall High-12:01AM (Daytime Maximum was 56F/13.3C at the 6:43AM sunrise) & Overall Low-around 11:30PM.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for seasonal temperatures with a good chance for thundershowers for much of the week. Already quite a bit of pollen still in the air.

This past week featured ample rainfall and somewhat variable maximums. Thundershower activity was courtesy of a trio of Pacific cold front passages--on the 19th, 22nd & 24th. Thankfully, any severe weather missed my area; a severe-warned cell just missed us to the North & South as the cold front/thunderstorm line hit us on the 24th (the cells were warned for likely hail & fairly gusty winds). I only copped a brief time of gusty winds as the thundershower hit and rain & not really that much thunder/lightning. Otherwise, the dry days were fairly pleasant, with variable cloudcover.
Overall Low-around 11:30PM-listed for the 25th (Morning Low was 53F/11.6C).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for warmer maximums, with good chances for thundershowers early-week.

This past week featured a good amount of warmth, somewhat humid conditions & a bit of thundershower activity (as a Pacific cold front passed through late PM on the 28th). During that frontal passage, a couple severe-warned cells (for hail & high winds) barely missed my area. Around 20 miles/32.2 kilometers south of Mena, strong straight-line winds toppled a few trees which blocked US Hwy 71 for a time. No really high winds or hail at my house. My area stayed mostly cloudy & somewhat cooler that day, dampening the severity of the cells in my area (which I was Very Thankful for). Otherwise, it was a fairly unremarkable almost mid-Spring week.
Forecast for the upcoming week calls for early-week warmth, with a bit of a cool down & good thundershower chances just past mid-week.
