    Hello Wonderful Friends:
Here's previous weeks' weather in Mena, Arkansas:
(So very sorry for delay, waiting for some official numbers to become available).

Also, at the end of the weekly summary, I'll begin listing the Climatological Average Maximum/Minimum Temperatures for Mena for that week (so you can compare the average temperatures with the actuals).

    DATE...…...HIGH...…..LOW...…....RAIN
    May..3..76F/24.4C...66F/18.8C...---
    ……...4..82F/27.7C...64F/17.7C...---
    ……...5..72F/22.2C...49F/9.4C.....---
    ……...6..73F/22.7C...43F/6.1C.....---
    ……...7..67F/19.4C...46F/7.7C.....---
    ……...8..66F/18.8C...49F/9.4C.....1.05"/26.6mm
    …..….9..68F/20.0C...40F/4.4C.....---

For the week of May 3-9: Mena's Avg. Max.: 75.0F/23.8C; Avg. Min.: 52.8F/11.5C

This week featured somewhat cooler-than-average temperatures. Fairly humid-feeling the first couple days of the week. A Pacific cold front passed through early AM on the 5th--although showers were nearby, they managed to miss my area; another Pacific cold frontal passage brought the thundershower activity on the 8th. Some of the favored colder towns in N/NW Arkansas had minimums at freezing (or just below) on the morning of the 9th. Areas of Texas broke Date Record High Maximums with tops of 100F+/37.7C+ while spots in upstate NY & areas of NE experienced rare May snowfalls. How's that for crazy May (Springtime) weather?
Overall Low-about 11:25PM--listed for the 5th (the Morning Low was 59F/15.0C); Overall Low-around 11:40PM-listed for the 8th (Morning Minimum was 57F/13.8C).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for early-week coolness, followed by a fairly good warmup & there are fair shower/thundershower chances throughout the week.

For the week of May 10-16: Mena's Avg. Max.: 76.4F/24.6C; Avg. Min.: 55.0F/12.7C

*=This was a Rec. Low Maximum for the Date (Broke 62F/16.6C, set in 1997)

This past week featured some cooler days mixed with some warmer ones & a few nice raindumps. Most Thankfully, any severe weather missed my area. A Warm Front approaching (from the SW) brought the thundershowers (and nighttime temperature rise) on the 12th; a vortex of Low-Pressure (Pacific cold front) brought the rain on the weekend. The showers featured not that much thunder/lightning; rain fell heavy at times during the late evening/night of the 16th; because of the circulation around the Low's vortex, the showers hit my area from the S & SE (quite an uncommon direction for showers in my area). My area--on the 12th--was on the "wrong side" of the warm front--as areas to the north of a warm front have cooler & more rainy weather than areas to the south of it. The temperature rose from the evening of the 12th throughout to the daytime high on the 13th (under sunny skies).
    Overall Low-around 9:45PM-listed for the 11th; Overall High-around 10:45PM-listed for the 12th (The Daytime High was 54F/12.2C-around 8PM); Overall Low-around 11PM-listed for the 15th (the Morning Low was 65F/18.3C).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for continued warm conditions with good shower chances toward the weekend.

For the week of May 17-23: Mena's Avg. Max.: 78.1F/25.6C; Avg. Min.: 57.3F/14.0C

This past week featured typical late-Spring warmth, humidity and a nice weekly raintotal. Early-week raintotal was carryover from Low-Pressure to our South; late-week rainfall was due to a Stationary Front in the area--also, a moist airflow from the Gulf of Mexico pumping vast quantities of humid air Northward. A number of the mornings felt cool, but the dry humidity levels then, and the stronger sun angle, made for nice & warm afternoons.
Overall Low-around 11:25PM-listed for the 17th (Morning Minimum was 63F/17.2C).
Forecast for upcoming week--as per Intellicast--calls for warm temperatures and thunderstorm/thundershower chances on every day of the week (not sure the last time that I've seen this in our area forecast).
Today--Monday--is the Memorial Day holiday here in the US (which marks the traditional start to the Summer/Vacation season in the US).

    Hello Folks:

    …..….29..80F/26.6C...60F/15.5C...---
    …..….30..81F/27.2C...52F/11.1C...---

For the week of May 24-30: Mena's Avg. Max.: 79.9F/26.6C; Avg. Min.: 59.6F/15.3C

Quite a soggy stretch of days in my area: I recorded rain each day from May 22-28, which amounted to 5.45"/138.4mm of rainfall all up (May is Mena's wettest average month with 6.40"/162.5mm rain being the normal). A few factors contributed to the ample raintotals: A Pacific Cold Front neared our area and then became Stationary; a bit later, a fairly large & slow-moving Upper-Level Low meandered around the area for a few days. On the 25th, rainshowers were hitting my area from the South (around the Easterly circulation of that Low pressure)--the Low continued to meander about slowly--and on the 28th, the showers hit my area from West To East (circulation around the bottom of the vortex of the Low pressure). We don't get such prolonged rainy stretches here that often. A-dry in my area-Pacific Cold Front passed through late PM on the 29th. We finally began to dry out & warm up toward the end of the week.
    Overall Low-around 11:10PM-listed for the 29th.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for warmer temperatures (tops could be 90F+/32.2C+) by weeks' end, with fairly poor shower chances.

    Hi Wet Snow
I notice Tropical Storm Cristobal looks like it might head your way on the weekend as a weakened depression. Very early for a tropical storm?

Hello & Good Day To You, Tasmanian Devil:
Yes, this is already quite an active Tropical Season here in the NH. Our NH Tropical Season began June 1st and 2 systems--Arthur & Bertha--formed before the season officially began. Cristobal is the earliest-ever 3rd named system in a season.
Depending on steering winds, the most favorable way my area may see remnants of a Tropical System, is if it comes ashore near Beaumont, TX and drifts northwards/NNW for a bit, until the upper-level winds carry it NE-wards over my area.
It's been a really wet Spring in my area & we really don't need any more rain for a while.

Have A Great One & Many Thanks!

For the week of May 31-June 6: Mena's Avg. Max.: 81.7F/27.6C; Avg. Min.: 61.8F/16.5C

This past week featured late-Spring warmth, an abundance of sunshine & rising humidity (and Heat Index) levels by late-week. The first few mornings were cooler & crisp. My are just missed--to the North & South--some heating showers on the 3rd & a heating shower did hit my area on the 4th. These type showers can be stationary--or slowly moving--and can put down a good amount of rainfall (while nearby areas get little or no rain; the KENA Radio Station--not far away from me--recorded 1.50"/38.1mm rain from that cell on the 4th). Heat Index levels were around 100F/37.7C+ on the 5th & 6th.
It's currently 4:20PM Sunday here & the remnants of Tropical Storm Cristobal (currently nearing landfall to the South of New Orleans, LA; with 50 miles per hour/80.5 kilometers per hour winds) are expected to head Northwards through Arkansas on Monday & Monday night. Most of the precipitation with this system (somewhat sub-tropical in nature) is on the eastern side, so areas of Eastern Arkansas will get much heavier rainfall, than my area will receive. I'm sure strong & gusty winds will be felt over a much larger area. The last time my area had rainfall from a Tropical System was when the remnants of Tropical Depression Imelda dropped 1.40"/35.5mm rain on me on Sep. 20, 2019. The rainfall from Cristobal is expected to make it all the way north into Wisconsin--only the 3rd time that rainfall from a tropical system has made it to that state.
Otherwise--beside the clouds, rain with Cristobal--the forecast for my area calls for cooler conditions with a cold-front passing on Tuesday & warming up for the rest of the week.

For the week of June 7-13: Mena's Avg. Max.: 83.5F/28.6C; Avg. Min.: 63.3F/17.3C

This past week saw Tropical Depression--was Tropical Storm--Cristobal drift northwards near my area. The "eye" of this weakening tropical system was just a bit east of Little Rock, Arkansas as it tracked northwards. My area was on the extreme western edge of the precipitation, hence the scant raintotal on the 8th (much heavier rainfall was to our east). A dry Pacific cold (gusty W/WNW/WSW winds that day) front came through on the 9th--this dropped the humidity levels and gave also some cooler mornings and fairly wide daily temperature differences for the next couple days. Otherwise, the days were fairly warm with little to no cloudcover.
This was the last full week of Spring here in the NH, as Summer officially arrives on the 20th.
Overall Low-around 11:20PM-listed for the 9th (the morning low was 69F/20.5C).
Forecast for Mena for upcoming week calls for continued warm conditions with fairly poor rainchances. Despite the recent good rainfalls, my area is actually starting to become fairly dry.

For the week of June 14-20: Mena's Avg. Max.: 85.1F/29.5C; Avg. Min.: 64.6F/18.1C

This past week featured pleasantly warm afternoons (esp. for me as I'm a bit cold-natured and enjoy warmth), with a few somewhat cooler mornings scattered throughout the week. A nearby trough and moist Southerly flow gave me a couple PM showers on the 20th. Shortly after both showers ended, the sun came back out, but it was a bit cooler than the previous days. The rain was very welcome, as--despite the fairly wet Spring, and year thus far--things were starting to get dry in my area; some grass in lawns are starting to turn brown & the Silver Maple tree in my backyard is starting to shed some leaves & the ground looks a bit parched in places.
The 20th was the first official day of Summer here in the US/NH.
Forecast for coming week calls for fairly seasonal temperatures with good thundershower chances for the first part of the week & later in the week.
Today--Sunday the 21st--is the Fathers' Day holiday here in the US! Wishing All The Great Dad's Out There A Very Blessed & Happy Fathers' Day!!!

For the week of June 21-27: Mena's Avg. Max.: 86.4F/30.2C; Avg. Min.: 65.8F/18.7C

This first full week of Summer featured warm & muggy conditions; moist S breezes and a nice amount of shower activity.
A Pacific cold front came through on the 23rd; otherwise, the rainfall was due to instability/heating-type showers. We are now into the part of the year that there is an almost daily 20% chance of those type of showers (including today--Sunday).
Felt very cool & refreshing with the shower activity on the 21st; otherwise, conditions were fairly humid. At least those breezes and cloudcover on a number of the days kept conditions more bearable.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for more warm & humid conditions with fair shower/thundershower chances throughout the week.

For the week of June 28-July 4: Mena's Avg. Max.: 87.2F/30.6C; Avg. Min.: 66.6F/19.2C

This past week featured plenty of warmth, humidity (Heat Indexes in excess of 100F/37.7C+ on some afternoons) and cloudcover. A moist Southerly flow keep my area humid and a nearby Stationary front meandering around was the trigger for the afternoon thundershowers during the week.
July 4th was the Independence Day holiday here in the US (Mena's city fireworks display was postponed--due to COVID-19--and hopefully will take place over the Labor Day weekend (Labor Day holiday here in the US is on Monday, September 7th).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for fairly good thundershower chance for the first half of the week with dry & hotter conditions for the last half.

For the week of July 5-11: Mena's Avg. Max.: 87.9F/31.0C; Avg. Min.: 67.1F/19.5C

This week saw fairly warm conditions, and a few of the days had Heat Indexes of 100F+/37.7C+. Early-week wetness was due to heating showers, aided by a Stationary Front meandering around the area. A Canadian Cold Front had enough strength to push through with thundershowers on the evening of the 10th; my area was on the extreme Eastern edge of a thundershower complex which came through around 11:58PM on the 11th (thundershowers continued into the 12th). The rainfall was very good to see, as it had been getting fairly dry lately and the ground readily sucked up that wet relief. There was a bit of cloudcover on some of the afternoons, but whatever relief from that was counteracted by the very humid conditions.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for continued warm conditions (maximums & minimums) with virtually nil shower chances.

For the week of July 12-18: Mena's Avg. Max.: 88.4F/31.3C; Avg. Min.: 67.4F/19.6C

A fairly typical warm, mostly sunny & muggy Summertime week here last week. Early-week thundershowers were caused by a moist airmass and a Stationary Front meandering around the area. The next few days saw Heat Indexes around 105F/40.5C; so my area--and much of Arkansas--were in a Heat Advisory for those days (July 14-17). I can attest that it didn't really require much work to work up a sweat in that kind of heat and humidity. Scant cloud-cover only provided brief relief at times. Although consistent rainfall is very welcome here in Summer, I personally hope we can reach a maximum of at least 100F/37.7C on at least 1 day this Summer. Otherwise, a fairly unremarkable week.
Forecast (as per Intellicast) for Mena for the coming week calls for continued warm/hot conditions with slight chances of seeing scattered/isolated thundershower activity by midweek.

For the week of July 19-25: Mena's Avg. Max.: 89.0F/31.6C; Avg. Min.: 67.5F/19.7C

This past week featured variably cloudy conditions with plenty of warm & mugginess. Raintotals were courtesy of a few heating/"pop-up" showers that graced our area & gave some relief from the stickiness of recent days. The cell on the 25th was sort of unusual as it hit us from the South and then went NW when over our area--giving the prolonged time of rainfall. Forecast for the upcoming week calls for continued warm/hot temperatures with fairly good chances for thundershower activity from Tuesday onwards. Starting to wonder if Mena will see any 100F/37.7C-degree days this Summer.

For the week of Aug. 2-8: Mena's Avg. Max.: 89.0F/31.6C; Avg. Min.: 67.0F/19.4C

This past week featured somewhat--and refreshing--below-normal temperatures (from the passage of the previous cold front) and a couple good thundershower events. Felt especially unseasonably cool & damp on the 7th. This past week DEF felt cool for August--but I'll take & be Thankful for every drop of rain (& heat/humidity relief) we get this time of year. Fairly low humidities led to good temperature spreads on a number of days in the week.
Thundershowers were due to the proximity of a Stationary front to our W & SW; this front later retreated NE-ward as a Warm front.
Forecast for the upcoming week calls for a return to warm & muggy conditions with good thundershower chances early-week.

    G’day Wet Snow.

It’s interesting to have an on the spot correspondent in the US - from outside a traditional snow area?

I’ve never travelled to the south and east in my Winter and Summer trips - it was all Canada and north and West of Denver. So Im curious how folks cope the fairly long summer of heat and humidity in the SE? It must play havoc with one’s lifestyle at the peak of These conditions?

Does your location help somewhat in comparison with the far south coast - Say Texas across to Florida?
    cheers.

    Hello Snowgum & All:
Yes, the hot & muggy conditions can be quite uncomfortable at times. It's really a bad time to have ones' AC to quit working.
If the conditions are such that the combination of heat & humidity are at 104F/40C or more, my area/county of Arkansas is put under a Heat Advisory--as such conditions are dangerous for the very young, elderly & put extra stress on the area livestock.
Thankfully, we have some summers here with ample rainfall, so we don't get put in a Heat Advisory & in some years/summers--due to regular rainfall & my town's elevation (almost 1,200FT/almost 365M ASL) we here in Mena fail to reach a yearly high temperature of 100F/37.7C. Nonetheless, the Heat Index temperatures can get quite high here at times, but surrounding areas--at lower elevations--are somewhat warmer.
During such times, everyone knows that yardwork needs to be done earlier in the day or later in the evening & to stay well hydrated. I've lived here all my life and the high humidity/mugginess/high heat index temperatures is something I don't think anyone can completely get used to.

Thanks Much for your interest & Take Care!

    Hello Wonderful Friends:
Sorry for the long delay, but a close lightning strike (around 1:30AM on the 11th) took out the router/modem of my PC and also the NIC card. The loud thunder woke me & I was literally Seconds from unplugging my PC when I heard a loud *BOOM* and the power went off for around 20 seconds in my house.
Just got back online a few minutes ago--now 12:30PM on August 19th.
There seems to be a data dropout (daily high & low temperatures for Mena not given) for August 13-16 (August 16 is as far as the current data goes to).

Earlier, a Stationary front was to our S/SW and this caused thunderstorm cells to "train" (from NW-SE) over our area; resulting in very heavy rainfall & localized flooding.
According to the US records page: Mena broke a couple daily (to 7AM) records for rainfall:
    MENA: Aug. 11: 3.90"/99.0mm (Broke 1.93"/49.0mm, set in 1957)
    MENA: Aug. 12: 7.57"/192.2mm (Broke 2.40"/60.9mm, set in 2017)

At my rainguage, I recorded 7.50"/190.5mm rainfall on the 12th & recorded 9.70"/246.3mm rain altogether. Both the NWS rain readings--on the 11th & 12th--are in the Top 10 all-time rainiest August days for Mena. Not bad, considering Mena only averages 2.70"/68.5mm rain in August.

    Kind Wishes--Stay Safe--Best Wishes & GOD Bless~~~Wet Snow

For the week of Aug. 9-15: Mena's Avg. Max.: 89.0F/31.6C; Avg. Min.: 66.8F/19.3C

WoW! What an excessively (& historically) heavy rainfall event! A Stationary Front was to our S/SW and was the trigger for heavy rainfall throughout the week, tapping into the deep & rich moisture pool over my area of the US. Thundershower cells were "training"--esp. on the 12th--moving from NW to SE over our area repeatedly, leading to localized flooding in the area. Aerial footage of residential yard flooding in Mena was actually shown on the US Weather Channel (not often do we see footage from here on TWC). I have a rainguage which measures up to 5"/127mm; I emptied the gauge (from the rainfall on the 11th) at 12:01AM and there was already 4.30"/109.2mm rain in the gauge, when I emptied it at 10:10AM (on the 12th)--as more heavy rain fell. Seldom do I have to empty my rainguage before a day is over. As you can see from my above post, both (official) rainfall readings (for the 11th & 12th) rank in the Top 10 for the all-time wettest August days in Mena (the reading on the 12th ranks as #1). Strangely, not long after the last of the rain fell on the 12th--around 12:30PM--the clouds dissipated and there was abundant sunshine--just like no heavy & historic rain-event happened! Thankfully, in my mountainous area, the many creeks & small rivers allow for fairly quick drainage, so whatever flooding there was, was not long-lived; but a number of local & county roads (& a few small bridges) will need repair. All in all, not too bad for here in August--which can often be very hot & dry. The remainder of the week was cooler-than-average, with daily tops around 85F/~30C and mornings near 60F/15C; with lower humidity levels & abundant sunshine.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for continued cooler-than-average temperatures with mostly dry conditions. I've just about given up hope of seeing a 100F/37.7C temperature here in Mena this summer.

Hello Richard: Many Thanks & Good Day To You.
We here in my little town are getting along as best we can. One good thing about living in a small town, is that not too much changes. Thankfully, the COVID restrictions here aren't quite as tight here as they are in more densely-populated places. That said, people here are still--for the most part--taking COVID very seriously. Statewide in Arkansas, folks are required to wear masks when out in public, or are unable to be at least 6FT away from others. These measures--and common sense--go a long way in combating the spread of this virus.
Will be interesting to see how things go, as another school year is fixing to commence in my area & high schools are going ahead with Autumn/Fall sports (with limited attendance) & it seems more people (when possible) will be working (or going to school) from home.
How are things there in your Wonderful country?
Have A Great One & Take Care!

    Good to hear mate,

All good in my neighbourhood, zero community spread and hasn’t been any thus far. Though folk are being vigilant with the guidelines - alert but not alarmed.

    Hello Richard & All:
Here's previous weeks' weather in Mena, AR.:

    .........18....NA...............NA................---

    .........21....86F/30.0C...58F/14.4C....---
    .........22....88F/31.1C...62F/16.6C....---

For the week of Aug. 16-22: Mena's Avg. Max.: 88.5F/31.3C; Avg. Min.: 65.9F/18.8C

For some reason, there was a data dropout--Mena's Daily Maximum & Minimum temperature was not listed for August 13th-19th. Otherwise, the week had slightly cooler-than-normal temperatures and was completely dry, with not that much in the way of cloudcover. The previous cold front really did a good job of clearing away the humidity--and much of the cloudcover--from my part of the US. This scenario could change in the coming week, depending on the forecast track of the Tropical System that is forecast to strike the Gulf coast of the US in the coming days.
The 19th was Mena's "birthday"; the first train (then Kansas City, Pittsburg & Gulf RR, now Kansas City Southern RR) to come through town was on August 19, 1896--124 years ago. Local schoolkids will begin another school year later today (Monday; the school year usually runs through mid-to-late May).

    Kind Wishes--Stay Safe--Take Care--GOD Bless~~~Wet Snow

For the week of Aug. 23-29: Mena's Avg. Max.: 87.6F/30.8C; Avg. Min.: 64.7F/18.1C

Another very wet August week! The rain amount on the 26th alone exceeds Mena's average rainfall for all of August. A large & slow-moving thundershower complex gave the thundershowers on the 26th. Rain on 27th & very early AM on 28th was courtesy of the western part of the circulation of ex-Hurricane Laura. The center of the diminished ex-Hurricane went northwards and passed right over Little Rock. The gustier winds and heavier rains were on the N & NE quadrant of the circulation. The winds were not too blustery in my area. Both the 26th & 27th felt chilly with the cooler and damp conditions, compared to the days previous and following. The proximity of a Stationary front caused the thundershower activity on the 29th (& early A today--Saturday the 30th). I'm not sure I've experienced such an excessively rainy & stormy August like this before.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for variable temperatures with continued good thundershower chances for much of the week.

Yes, for sure. Never saw such an excessively wet--and at times very cool--August like that before. Thankfully, my area has good drainage, so any flooding was rather short-lived. But the excess rain did quite a bit of damage to the county's dirt roads, culverts & small bridges.

For the week of Aug. 30-Sep.5: Mena's Avg. Max.: 86.3F/30.1C; Avg. Min.: 63.5F/17.5C

A continuation of the excessively wet time we had in the latter part of August. In fact, the amount of rain I recorded on the 1st (5.20"/132.0mm) exceeds the average rain for all of September (5.00"/127.0mm). A Stationary front meandering around the area, a Southerly airflow & lots of moisture over my area were responsible for more good thundershower/shower activity; a Canadian cold front passed through on the 4th. The 1st & 2nd were rather chilly & the sunshine & warmth on the 4th & 5th felt pretty good.
Overall High--around 2AM--listed for the 1st; the Low temperature was around 1PM & the Daytime Maximum was around 70F/21.1C at the 6:50AM sunrise.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for near-normal temperatures and dry conditions.

Sounds like you've had some good soaking rains in your area over the past month or so. Hopefully the damage hasn't been too severe, but I can imagine some of your dirt roads and culverts may be looking worse for wear.

Hopefully some drier weather to come?

Hello J_busworth & All: Yes, we had a few dry days (from the 4th-9th), but another round of showers (a Pacific cold front to the west of us) came through earlier today (Thursday), giving me a further 1.25"/31.7mm rain (all up, I've already copped 7.55"/191.7mm rain for September; our normal for September is 5"/127mm rain). Oh well, at least I had a few dry days to mow the yard & do some other yardwork.

Many Thanks for the interest & Have A Good One!

For the week of Sep. 6-12: Mena's Avg. Max.: 84.2F/29.0C; Avg. Min.: 61.3F/16.2C

This next-to-last full week of Summer felt cooler than previous weeks. A Stationary front to our west caused the shower activity on the 10th & 11th. Otherwise, the days had mostly sunny skies and lower humidities. Kinda disappointed that this year will be yet another Summer without hitting a top of 100F/37.7C, but I'm glad that the cause is having ample & consistent rainfall. Sure wish we could share some of our excess wetness with the wilfire-stricken areas out West. One wildfire has grown to the largest-ever in California history; exceeding 1,000 Square Miles (over 2,590 square kilometers) and--as a whole--the wildfires have burnt an area larger than the state of Connecticut (Connecticut=land area of 4,849 square miles/12,559 square kilometers); a number of fires are barely contained & have caused at least 33 deaths so far.
Forecast for upcoming week in my local area calls for downward-trending temperatures with the best shower chances around midweek.

This last full week of Summer was totally dry and had a cooler finish. A dry (& rather weak) Canadian cold front passed through on the 19th (just a few clouds & a windshift to the NW/N signaled the passage; along with somewhat lower humidity levels).
Overall Low-around 11:30PM-listed for the 19th (the Morning Low was 59F/15.0C). Otherwise, it was a pleasant and unremarkable week.
Forecast for coming week calls for cooler and showery weather to start the week (my area may get showers from Tropical Storm Beta--they've had so many named storms in the Atlantic & Pacific Oceans around the US that they've ran out of Alphabet names & now they're using the the Greek alphabet); with drier & warmer conditions to follow.

For the week of Sep. 20-26: Mena's Avg. Max.: 80.0F/26.6C; Avg. Min.: 56.0F/13.3C

The early part of this past week was rainy & fairly chilly, courtesy of my area being hit by the outer North/Northwest rainband of Tropical Storm Beta; the center of which passed well to the S/SE of my area/Arkansas (headed NE). The showers started late on the 21st and continued until early AM on the 23rd. The TS's center was so far away, so that my area had not that much in the way of very windy conditions. The last part of the week had sunny & somewhat warmer-feeling conditions. The first official day of Autumn/Fall here in the US/NH was on the 22nd (DEF did not feel like early-Autumn)!
Forecast for the coming week for my area calls for cooler-than-normal temperatures and the best rainchances are late in the weekend (we bottomed out at a chilly 42F/5.5C here this--Tuesday--morning).

For the week of Sep. 27-Oct. 3: Mena's Avg. Max.: 77.3F/25.1C; Avg. Min.: 53.1F/11.7C

This past week--mostly dry--featured some cool air and felt more like later in Autumn instead of early-Autumn. Showers were courtesy of a Canadian cold front. Post-front, the lower humidities made for some crisp mornings and good daily temperature spreads; with scant to no cloudcover. A dry Canadian cold front passed through on the 1st & a dry Pacific cold front passed by on the 3rd. I noticed that some leaves on local trees are starting to undergo the color-change (hard to believe its started this early)!
Overall Low--abt. 11:40PM--listed for the 27th (morning low of 59F/15.0C); Overall Low--abt. 11:15PM--listed for the 28th (morning low of 54F/12.2C); Overall Low--about 11:45PM--listed for the 1st (morning low of 56F/13.3C).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for mostly dry conditions (slight chance of light showers mid-week) with close-to-seasonal temperatures.

For the week of Oct. 4-10: Mena's Avg. Max.: 75.1F/23.9C; Avg. Min.: 50.6F/10.3C

This past week was totally dry, and with lower humidity levels--courtesy of the dry cold front on the 3rd--several of the days saw fairly wide temperature spreads. The cooler mornings and diminishing daylight times are really accelerating the color-change of the leaves on area trees. Solid cloudcover and--overall--somewhat warmer on the 9th, as Hurricane Delta was well to our SE (my area only saw cloudcover from this tropical system; areas of Arkansas further to our E & SE saw the rainfall). Otherwise, cloudcover was fairly scant.
    Overall Low-around 11:40PM-listed for the 4th.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for near-normal temperatures; a cool-down toward the end of the week and just about nil rainchances.
Today--Monday the 12th--is the Columbus Day holiday in the US.

For the week of Oct. 11-17: Mena's Avg. Max.: 72.6F/22.5C; Avg. Min.: 48.5F/9.1C

Another totally dry week, with a warm start and somewhat cooler finish. A couple of dry Pacific cold fronts passed through--on the 12th & 15th--but only brought some cloudcover and a windshift (from S/SW to NW/WNW) upon their passage. Otherwise, an unremarkable mid-October week. The color-change continues on the area tree leaves & recent windyness (& dryness) has caused more leaves to drop off trees.
Overall Low-abt. 11:40PM-listed for the 12th (humid and warm Morning Low of 67F/19.4C); Overall High-12:01AM & Overall Low-abt. 11:35PM-listed for the 15th (Day High was 64F/17.7C at the 7:23AM sunrise).
Forecast for coming week calls for showers (I really pray we get some good rains) early-week with warm conditions, followed by a fair cool-down (& more shower chances) by the weekend.

For the week of Oct. 18-24: Mena's Avg. High: 69.8F/21.0C; Avg. Min.: 46.4F/8.0C

Another week with mostly warm conditions and a cooler finish. Light raintotals were from a nearby Stationary front--I was happy & Thankful to see anything falling out of the sky, as this was our first rain in around 3 weeks, and starting to get fairly dry in the area. A--dry in my area--Canadian cold front came through just after 9AM on the 23rd & the 24th felt very chilly under cloudy skies with a cool NW/WNW breeze.
The time change (back to Standard Time), which I dislike, will be at 2AM next Sunday.
Overall Low-around 11:15PM-listed for the 19th; Overall Low-around 11:20PM-listed for the 23rd (morning low was a balmy 67F/19.4C; and the temperature slowly fell after the dry cold front passed through in the morning).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for cool & showery conditions with temperatures slowly moderating.

    Hello Folks:
One of the strongest Canadian cold fronts of the season is surging through Texas today (Monday). At around 6PM this evening--as per the US Metar Map--it was 17F/-8.3C in Dumas, Texas & it was 87F/30.5C in McAllen, Texas.
That's one of the things I like about keeping up with powerful cold fronts that come through in Autumn/Winter.
Looking at the Doppler Radar and I just saw a really long gustfront (thin line), it stretched from around Paducah, KY to Little Rock, AR (in a straight line, that's 262 miles/422 kilometers), the shower line to the north of it wasn't really that impressive or severe.
BTW, the straight-line distance between Dumas, TX & McAllen, TX is just over 703 miles/1,132 kilometers. Sometimes the temperature difference between close-by cities (being split by a powerful cold-front) can be impressive as well.

For the week of Oct. 25-31: Mena's Avg. Max.: 67.7F/19.9C; Avg. Min.: 44.2F/6.7C

This past week featured chilly & rainy start and somewhat warmer finish. A vortex of Low-Pressure (Pacific cold front) developed to our South and slowly passed Eastwards, accounting for the cloudy, chilly and rainy conditions. The 30th & 31st were sunny & felt much warmer than the previous days. The color-change on the area leaves is progressing right along & the tree leaves are looking better by the day. This will be aided by the shorter daylight times, as most of the US went back on Standard Time at 2AM yesterday (Sunday; now Mena's sunrise will be 6:37AM with a 5:24PM sunset--YUCK!).
The High on the 26th was at 12:01AM and around 2PM, the Overall Low was near 11:35PM (as the temperature remained steady much of the day); The High on the 28th was at the 7:32AM sunrise & Overall Low was near 11:35PM--as temperature fell most all day, after the morning.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for rebounding temperatures--highs a bit above normal--and mostly dry conditions.

For the week of Nov. 1-7: Mena's Avg. Max.: 65.3F/18.5C; Avg. Min.: 42.0F/5.5C

A dry Pacific cold front passed through late PM on the 1st & the minimum on the 2nd was the first freezing minimum since April 15th--a span of 201 days. The following days were mostly cloud-free, with cool & crisp mornings & pleasant afternoons. The color-change on the tree leaves is progressing right along.
