Okay folks, heading back to NYC in December and have planned a trip to Montreal and then on to Mont Tremblant for 5 days. Have not skied in the East previously. Anyone been there and experienced the resort? @sly_karma ?
    Looking for tips.

Nope, never actually set foot in La Belle Province. All I hear is stories of ice.

I spent a week there a couple of years ago. Resort village is a lot like Whistler a few ski in/ out options, which is highly recommended. Stayed at the Marriot suites which were ski in but not out. Was icy and cold when we were there but still fun. In fact we had a -25 c day before wind chill Which was hard to take, layers are your friend because it can be variable depending on which side of the mountain you happen to be on. Lots of good intermediate runs which was our things and the kids loved it.

I went there in early 2007, so perhaps not very up to date facilities-wise
we stayed at a place at the bottom of the cabriolet, so first thing every day it was a ride in that to get to the lifts
it’s a fairly compact place so everything is an easy ski there and back
    re steepness, nothing hugely challenging

If you can delay skiing till after USA/Canada Christmas / New Years school holidays you wouldn't have to book anywhere prior and could choose the best place to go to a week out. Have hire car and go where it's snowing. Could be Tremblant, could be Mont Sainte Anne, maybe better further south in Vermont, New Hampshire or over in Maine. After the holidays all places in the NE are empty and good value mid week. Conditions wise, its like skiing Australia / NZ .... Its all about the timing.
