Which marketing guru came up with this site? Discover..... Plan.... Book.... Took me about 5 minutes to find the trail map. How about a relatively easy to find search button.
I was going to comment on the new site but thought I would bite my tongue. It does seem amateurish and not very helpful.
Not to mention very poor attention to stakeholders sites , still trying to get it fixed. Village cam also not present on BB site but avail on ski.com ??
I quote others here, I haven't visited Baw Baw site for a couple of months! However, FWIW: You'd have to think Belgravia either did a cheapo job on this site or were hoodwinked. Decent site developers will have evidence of a portfolio so you wonder what credentials were provided. And first rule of business - you get what you pay for. Oh also, to me it's unforgiveable that any ski resort updates snow reports late (ie mid morning), incomplete or inaccurately during the ski season. That's just jeopardising potential dollars! (Especially with fresh snow falling ATM!)
Considering how stakeholders rely on the board of management to promote and help get people to BB , we can only promote ourselves so much through FB ect.. The BB web page should promote board owned clubs and private clubs also on a level playing field. Our clubs rates are over 20k per year , not inc insurance , elect , gas ect , and we are non profit. It is very frustrating to say the least. Rant over.. Hopefully it all works out , we have battled for our existence for over 40yrs
Maybe the developers had their orders: Make it easy to booka stay, hard to work out what the snow condition is. I look at http://www.onthesnow.com.au/australia/mt-baw-baw-alpine-resort/webcams.html
Just had a look at the site... Yep, it's pretty gay! I imagine potential first-time visitors would give up well inside a minute. Can't recommend these people highly enough: Vixen Internet Solutions
Possibly even More scary than the site per se are the historic snow records. 2008 appears to be the last year that depths hit the one metre mark!
I hate all these sites that are being made to suit phones and tablets only. On a computer there is a colossal waste of space, you end up with so little information on the page and have to scroll down multiple times to find anything. This is a perfect example of it.
No snow report update as of 10 am Saturday (18 July) - just a tad late today! ...snow looks good - all the more reason to promote it
Just looked at the new website myself, what a shemozzle, lovely graphics but trying to navigate it is much more confusing than the old one, not very user friendly. And Charlie, we are talking about the website here!
I found the maps easily. Maybe this website was built for me because others I have looked at that people say are great, I get lost on.
