Needs more snow. But perhaps not too much to open Southside. If they get 40cm on the weekend it might go close.

Wombat, shaky knees and abom all closed early, wind-hold I guess. Didn't seem any worse than this morning, but the visibility improved.

yep, starting to flog down now and the road is covered. Coming in sideways.

Grimus was good, actually it was great. Pretty quiet and even Herbies didn't have a big crowd - mostly ski patrollers and one washed up ex ski instructor turned online retail mogul and his missus.

I can highly recommend the grilled prawns with a panko crumbed terrine of pig's head and also the duck. The schnitz looked good also. Saving the Nockel for next week.

Had a pretty good morning. Pretty much snowed the whole time.
Shakey Knees, LBS and Wombat all better than yesterday.
    Tirol a nice fun run.
    Skyline nice.
Kofflers T bar open, and the runs line Chute and Boomarang where quite good.
Summit was open, but would recommend only to rockhoppers. Although it was filling in nicely towards lunch.
Had a T-bar snap off on Kofflers on an instructor (he was following his kids up) and me as it picked up the load ROFL

not a huge amount has fallen but hard to tell really as it's so windblown. LBS and Wombat are a bit chopped and bumpy but the snow quality itself was great this morning. After lunch did laps from Summit to Kofflers and then Summit skiers left by the fence, straight-line across under Kofflers and straight down Boomerang next to the treeline. Was great skiing and considering its the end of June it was fantastic :D

    Snowing quite heavily now.

Windy on the exposed bits. Eg top of ABOM and Wombat chair.
Otherwise ok. No lifts on hold today. Much better than yesterday afternoon.

Didn't see any lift holds tho.

Anyone up there tomorrow that wants to catch up?
Sorry didn't catch up today cc- ended up practicing switch most of the day down Burke and shaky knees with the odd wombat run thrown in

I am going tomorrow! (sorry rj62)
So help please with ski choice as my quiver grew to 2 just yesterday ahead of Japan trip...

For tomorrow at Buller would you say try the new Pollard Opus @118mm underfoot OR stay with the now rockhoppper status K2 Aftershocks? (measly 86mm underfoot) I guess the question is how soft will snow be and how many rocks I might hit...

(ps thanks & hi to CM for suppply & mounting bindings on Bliz Gunsmoke for no.2 son) + Tim for the beer & chat while I waited

My Aftershocks may be relegated to rockhopper status this season too.

I nearly destroyed one down Standard on Abom weekend last year, and CarveMan reckons the edges don't have a lot left in them.

You'd think he had a vested interest in me buying new skis...

Oh no MX_B - I'm sure CM would NEVER do that.:) But hey, they (being ski shop owners) seem to be saying 105mm is new 85mm.

Wow, it's been amazing following the predictions and observations threads of these two systems over the last 2 weeks!

Similar question as MickeyE, heading up to Buller on Monday morning (got the day off!) ... what are the thoughts on snow cover expected by then? Should I stick with the rock-hopper option or take the new board out for a spin? :)
