It's a bit to do with my day trip mentality where we must pack 2 days sking into one, some of the staff dont like to be rushed and Im like "day tripper, coming through, look out"

It was untracked because we weren't there. This is what we love about it. We have barely been on groomers all season. We love trees and love the trees at Buller.

    I don't mind at all.
I can ride steeper stuff if I want, but I like fresh untracked snow better. If that means "flat", then so be it. I don't care. I just love the feeling of riding, the quietness of being where no one else is. Same reason I ride a longboard and not a shortboard when surfing.
Everyone is different. Some people love to rip down the mountain as fast as they can too, I don't. I like to make it last as long as I can and just enjoy it.
    There are no rules.
I will always argue "for" Buller. After all it was our home mountain for many years and we would probably save a lot more money if we chose to ride there ;)
Anyway, this thread is about reports. I always love reading them.

I'm up for the weekend each first year for the first week of spring, I only board green/some blue runs and I would say that this year is only marginly worse than last year...

You mean my run down Yuredla wasn't interesting enough on its own?
I think the liftie quickly discovered who the live ones are, anyway! LOL

It took that long with mx_boarder? I think we win. Our chiding happened on the first ride with you up from Tirol

I'm hoping the liftie took note of our helpful suggestions to him though LOL

Hotham is my regular date where I spend time (even though I do decide a couple of days out based on weather to ensure get the good snow systems). Buller is my misstress, when I want something really exciting, quick and dirty day away.

Our 1st trip to Buller and its been great.
The people here have been really friendly and helpful. I can see the potential this mountain has when there is a lot of snow. We really enjoyed the summit chair runs as well as the long run down to the slow quad on the south side.
A special mention to the most comfortable padded chairlift with the pretty waterfall.
For dinner tonight we went to Snow Pony.
Fantastic worth every $$ for our end of season competition meal.
All of the parents i met whilst watching the interschool races were great.
Look foward to another visit in 2 years.

Insanely warm today. My pick today was Yuredla (or however you spel it). Spring skiing at Buller it's pretty good this year. Just wish Grimus was still open.

Guess more of the same tomorrow. I will have to get out first thing i guess. :)

Well, season 2015 is done and dusted for Team LTB. Unfortunately, that means the VS cam shuts down - sorry guys. @DbSki - can you post a holding image for next year.

I'd rate this season 6-7/10 - better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick but just a few dumps short of being really good. Spring conditions are great. Get up here quick though looking at this week's forecast ;)

For us - it's off to Sth America on Thursday for Int swim comp, then a family holiday in Tulum, Mexico / SoCal and I'm packed up already for Alaska in March 2016.

    Muchas gracias Mt Buller....:D

Looks steeper than some other places in the world that can't be mentioned on the same page as the word flat.

And that's one of the steeper runs there.

Over lakeside I had to flog it to make it to the lifts without using poles.

Yeah I was at Lysterfield last week, after 20mm of rain overnight, worst decision ever. Plus my front fork is knocking pretty badly, so i'm just gonna bash it until it dies, still got 6 months warranty so i'd prefer to do a good job on it before I send it for replacement.

Fox? Not even once? SR Suntor? Again, not even. I'll have to lay down the cash for something decent this time round.

Nice view from down on the Mansfield-Woods Pt road this afternoon. You can clearly make out the Chute/Family area runs - precious little white left though.

For your diligent posts, and many reports this season, all received with appreciation, I’d like to offer you some thank you torte, in recognition of your dedicated efforts. . .

    <sheepish blush>

. . . Err, with much remorse, I’d like to offer my humble apologies. And say I’m very sorry. I do regret my actions, and am riddled with shame. I'm feeling quite contrite. I was a little hungry. All this typing worked up a ravenous appetite. So I needed sustenance. Of the foodal variety. Nonetheless, I feel extremely guilty now. However - and I say this with absolute certainty - I can categorically state, and confirm with total conviction, that it was delectably scrumptious. Every mouthful was totally Heavenly, right to the very last morsel. It was good. Very, very good.

winter . the cold season is over. finished for me. no more early trips up the hill to mt buller. where the snow falls, from the sky to create a surface which people flock to to go skiing. they use skis attached to boots via clever mechanical devices called bindings to slide on the snow. the white crystals that fall from the sky. its time to put away the jacket, which keeps you dry, the pants, which cover your legs, the helmet , to keep your head protected , the goggles to protect your eyes away until next winter, when again snow falls from the sky. it has been a good year for me, transporting guests, skiers , to and from there lodges. where they sleep, shut there eyes and rest, eat , put food in there mouth , drink... to just drink. and meet other lodge visitors . other people crammed into small rooms. there has been , not the refried type. on this forum , a chat page where people post comments , not via Australia post . on the ins and outs of mt buller. where snow falls from the sky. now the sun has come out, the bright yellow thing in the sky . there is only one thing to do..... EAT TAUT... TAUGHT ... TORTE... CAKE.
thanks , its been a pleasure
    wolly .
