I doubt very much if lower Wombat bowl will be open apart from perhaps Outer Edge as that's less rocky and somewhat summer groomed.

But when Bull Run is open wall to wall who cares about Wombat Bowl??
Lower Wombat Bowl has been closed by the Ski Patrol, could be skiable. My vote is for Bull Run though.

Yep, no problem.
I've done it on my phone while standing in the insufferably slow line at the Northside ticket office.

just make sure you've got your correct email and password remembered for log in to your account.

Pissing rain outside here now, I just don't trust it after weeks of shit weather and Buller fog.
And after 50 years at Buller I think I'm over it.

Sounds good but if I had to choose a mid week day, the cheap day wouldn't be my choice.
Uni cheap days were the one to avoid in previous years.

Well that would rule out Tue/Wed/Thu! Why is that? Hill Is pretty quiet any day during the week usually.

Summit hidden by Fog, who would have guessed.

Dare I say, Hotham looks good today on the Cams

Sure that's snow, something wet has cleared the roof of Moose flats and nothing on APIRA roof.

Typical Buller day. Standing on cow camp in the sun and watching the light fluffy flakes fall at the same time. And lucky to see even your skis on summit.

When the whole mountain is open the fog is not an issue, but when low down is limited options are limited.

Buller powder is a special kind of powder snow.
Too often having the consistency of packaged potato mash due to Bullers weak bladder and tendency to pizzle some more after a dump.

Today was a good day. Interesting weather; constantly changing from blue and sunny to dumping, and everything in between. Some great layers of cloud with light coming through; very atmospheric (no photos sorry).

Snow was firm but not icy, dry and fast. Edges held well everywhere all day.
All aspects of the mountain had good conditions.
A bit thin in the usual places. Another 50 please...

Powder?... hmm, was some edge deep light dry stuff.

Snowed on and off. Often light, sometimes heavy, but never lasting for very long.

Light winds, cold... and no dampness ; dry all day :)

Sitting in snow pony watching a lady put her boots on and stuffing bubble wrap down the front of them. Weird.

Could be a good training routine to stop you crushing the front of your boot.

Great skiing all round
Dam Run- Good skiing except for a couple of patches (okay a lot of patches but still good skiing)
Cow Camp- Alright with patches at bottom.
Wombat Bowl- Good skiing with patches developing (half way only)
Southside- Good
Bull Run- Good with patches developing.
Lower Chamois- Good with some patches.
Federation looks alright, especially Whisky Creek- I expect a weekend opening of Boggy Creek and Federation.

Which part of ^^ that equals "Great skiing all round"?

Is it the "a lot of patches"?
Or the "patches at the bottom"?
Maybe the "patches developing", or good with some patches".
Great skiing means you have had fun on season's best snow:D. I take for granted that Bull Run, Chamois, Dam Run, etc are open and have decent cover. Go to Whistler if you want perfect snow. Otherwise get up here :)

Haha reading that report made me laugh. Only in Aus are we more than happy just to be skiing at all! :D
And 'good skiing' can sometimes mean that the run literally just has enough cover for us to ski it.

Wife told me that Dam Run was pretty damn good today. Lower part of Fed was closed.
She reckoned Lower Chamois was getting pretty thin at the end of the day.
All round the summit was good. Eg fast one.

Gotta say, had a great few days at Buller where could ski all four sides of the mountain. Sure was a bit patchy in places like cow camp and bottom of Grimus but there was some absolutely brilliant Aus skiing with highlights being fast one/slalom gully, powder keg and fannys was good too.
Got to have a couple of good runs with @luvthabumps yesterday and many great turns with @LiveToSki and @hoppy. You could ski at Buller lots and not get 3 days as good as those 3. :)

Lower Federation was open. Yes it was a bit patchy but soft in the arvo.
Bull Run was Icey for the most part.
Wombat Bowl had powder and soft snow.
