Anybody want to throw up a guesstimation of what's on the ground now?
Obviously not as much as NSW, where they "need" chains!
The amount of tracks on Standard, u would think Bullrun was spinning
I think the plan has been designed to prevent my brothers getting up and pulling apart more lifts
Well that’s understandable then
28 cms on my back deck earlier (around 16:00), not much since.
32 cm today, softening fast!
Enjoy it while it lasts!
went for a ride... with the boys.
arent the trails closed??
how was it , muddy?
road... plough shed, to/from Mirimbah.
I'd say between 30 and 40cm on the ground.
Covered much of the mountain this weekend. Got totally stuck in the undergrowth on Grimus. Mens, LBS, Wombat, Skyline all pretty awesome if you got there pre stickiness. Standard and LBS were quite skied out by later today - but most other stuff untouched...
Snow all still heavy in the trees - so its been cold.
Awesome to see a lift turning tomorrow. Well done Buller. I wish the Melbourne folk could just come up for this 2nd week of the school holidays...they really need it.
I am so psyched to see that. Well done to all concerned.
As painful as it was to miss my first season since 1991, I have enjoyed seeing some lucky people enjoy the mountain online - whether it was the hardcore crew earning their turns the old fashioned way or people today cruising laps of Bourke Street. Well done to all the Mt Buller team for squeezing everything you could out of the season that was / was not. I hope you all manage to get through this and come out the other side ok. I can’t wait for the buzz being back on the Horse Hill chair or Village bus ready to enjoy the day ahead. Here’s hoping we see us all back up there enjoying the mountain next year. Even waiting in a long lime for Wombat or Grimus chair will be ok, for the first morning anyway.
I think this was the final straw for ordering some clippers for the iso beard
LBS looks like a baller cover but no one skiing
Hotham could use some runs like that, both for skiing and snow retention #fairway
The Buller touring crew is on Bogong atm
After a questionable cheesy corporate feel good start, strong redemption. Anything that has the castle in it has my vote + now i want to move to mt buller. I do miss that mountain oooft such epic skiing and vibes and views when its on
Good on anyone for getting after it. But its been time for a while to give it away until next season. Get the bike or trail shoes out
Bike is ready, not much terrain in my 5km radius sadly.
You should have stayed on the hill. Call the midwife onto the mountain
Was great to get a few last runs with the kids down Bourke Street yesterday, a great vibe all day and lots of smiling faces. Plenty of snow on the run until you got down to the lift load which was pretty much a pond skim over the concrete patches by mid afternoon! Well done everyone at Buller for making the most of a pretty ordinary year.
Yup I’ll never forget that feeling of sitting in the hospital with a 2 day old baby watching the press conference knowing I couldn’t make the bolt for Buller that all my friends did and simultaneously realising that our next year was absolutely financially ****ed.
That’s a decent peak to trough all at once right there.
Thanks for all your fantastic reporting this winter!
I'm getting many texts about the beard!
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say...
...I'm calling it!

Snow in your coffee at 660m - usually a good sign of things to come!
The sun appeared so time to sample this late season snowfall.
Lack of snow time in 2020 certainly made even the most modest climbs up an effort initially.
A clockwise tour of the hill with the occasional run into others and comparing notes as we went, looking for the light stuff.
Luckily we had "brown bagged" it ! One of my favourite sights was the "soul toboganists" straight lining Summit Slide without a Patroller in sight.
Very mixed snow conditions where ever we went - still finding plenty of fun.
Probably the pick of the snow for us was into Howqua.
The climb giving plenty of time to admire the quiet mountain.
Plenty of tracks before we got here (mostly from the day before), probably a better ride for the boarders- working hard here just to get the skis around in the heavy snow.
Cold temps all day top of - 2 and overnight low - 4 keptr the snow in the trees and next to no breeze for 2 days.
I had given up skiing Mt. Buller a number of years ago after being a regular for over 25 years so it really was a treat to come back with a handful of others who were also fortunate to live locally (or regionally in my case) and experience the mountain in all her quiet magnificence.
Hey, does anyone know where the Buller season pass Covid information is on the site. I want to roll over my season pass to next year but can’t find where to do it. I never received an email on how to do it and I believe I only have til end of Oct to do so.
Not sure it's on the site - I just received an email directly. Checked your Junk folder?
If not, drop them a line.
Yeah you can't navigate to it directly from the website, you need the specific link they email you so you probably want to get in touch with Buller ASAP.
On a related topic my season resort entry got refunded today - marvellous!
Looking at staying with a lady friend on Wednesday 11th november for one night on the hill
Anyone who would be interested in renting out their place, shoot me a PM
swag at the firehut
Season pass purchased.
Depending on the Covid situation midnight might be the last deadline to buy an SP for next winter.
Great day out. Escaped melb yesterday to spend a few days based out of merrijig
Round head trail head - west ridge - klingsporn - doughtys
Thanks to the Lauriston Howqua staff driving up doughtys who gave me a lift from almost the bottom. Gave me enough time to have a shower and enjoy an enthusiastic drive up and down the mountain before sunset
My friend had a great day too, unfortunately the heat and hoon was a bit much for her, not feeling the best now
3rd pic - has anyone skiied this?
New year, new thread
