So dope! Which route up did you trek? Gully glades would be sweet, what line did you take down?
Walked up the roads in the village then up the home trails to top of eagle then came down through the Y’s then down gully
Best boarding I’ve ever had in aus

I measure 20 cms out front at village level, 1620m odd. The bottom 10cms has very little air in it, so landed pre packed down. That's on an area that had NO snow 2 days back. Expect that would open most runs, except say some north side, like burnt hut, and down low. Still plenty more on the way.

Went for my government approved exercise this afternoon. Village, Alberg, bottom of Skyline, Woodrun to the bottom, Standard, top of Bourke St express. :D

Wood run was a bit twiggy but very nice creamy snow, no rocks. My rockhoppers survived. Kudos to the chair lifts, they make getting to the top look so easy. :)

My eight year old woke me up at first light and asked if we could do a few powder laps of chamois and then walk out from mid. Parenting goals achieved, my work here is done. Wasn't the lightest powder anyone has ever skied or boarded but it was plenty deep enough and untouched and just a joy to be out with the little one and seeing the froth levels peaking.

Hmm, westerly winds, temps rising. Might be glad we got out today when we wake up tomorrow. Hopefully it just keeps snowing!

I was kinda aiming for Sunday morning but when the snow was good this afternoon I pulled the trigger straight away. When it's on, it's on and it's go.

Some pictures from my tour around the Southside of Buller.
It was pissing down snow the entire time.
Skiing down Wood Run was very nice and creamy.

Bull Run & Bowl? Looking great despite the lifts not spinning.

I note the saplings and heather are taking over - are they overdue a snip or is MPP habitat? (Cool if it is?) ;)

Not allowed are they?
Actually they’ve done a comprehensive vegetation survey and now they’re allowed to summer groom more readily than they were previously, but only in the approved areas.

But I agree it’s piss-poor. I‘ve got pics of Bull Run bowl from over the years and the encroachment of saplings is real. I understand that plum pine is verboten due to possum habitat but the saplings are a pain and I’d actually volunteer to clear saplings from the bowl over summer.

Probably enough for Wombat/LBS, Koflers/Howqua, perhaps Men’s, a bit more for Wood Run and Yurredla.
Not to mention that there is probably enough snow in the long term forecast to open a lot more than that.
Burnt Hut? Meaning to do a day trip as soon as I can and the GF needs a green run to learn on.

I’ve agitated enough about summer grooming that if there was any evidence of guerrilla action the finger would get pointed in my direction!
What’s the official response if I may ask pls? Money, environment, MPP-specially, Board?

I mean Buller hasn’t exactly got the 2m+ depths of Kosi winters to play with?

(I note snowgum sampling’s are returning on the lower summit run et al at Falls - it’s a good way of slowly making a run/area permenantly closed in all but the best (2m) mid-winters?)

Call me silly or optimistic .. i have kept my booking at the Delatite hotel for Tue and Weds nights.. i can leave Melbs at mid night and be there by 3 AM... lets hope it all settles down because for once the forecast is mint!!
Don’t mean to be negative, but the chances of the lockdown lifting on Tuesday are somewhere between 0 and nil.
