here are some photos of the damage near here, looking at the forecast this could get a lot worse over the next few days.

I concur, frozen branch fell very close to today’s jump as I was riding towards it. Good times ahead

What is your definition of 'worse'? Do you mean more trees will fall? and if so why - lots more snow? Or rain turning its weight into more ice or??

Yes

> and if so why - lots more snow? Or rain turning its weight into more ice or??

Yes and Yes.

Snow due next three days, followed by wet to very wet snow on Monday-Tuesday. I expect all this will add to what is already on the trees, some trees the head of the tree is now on the ground, and will get snowed into the ground. So even when the snow melts off the tree, it is held under, when that happens they often break. Some trees would have a tonne in weight on them already.

We now have a lovely view out of our window when normally we are just looking at trees, such is the weight of snow bearing down on them. Unbelievably flexible the snowgums.

Hi all. Jealous locked-down Sydneysider and twice Buller visitor (both times in complete cover with northside runs open) here.

I'm a Thredbo skier and hang out in that thread, and also lurk in the Perisher thread from time to time but this thread the best pics right now. Glad you finally got some after your shocking season start. Enjoy, all of those who can access by whatever means. That is all.

Just on my webcam, this is what the view looked like on the morning of the ’day of the season’ in 2018 - 19th August. So we’ve got a bit to go, also that car just stayed put and never got dug out.

The snow pile in the foreground is from the roof shed. This window is on the second storey, we totally lost our view downstairs.

Then the snow from that dump came off the roof:

Wow, STILL fun! New layer on top last night. Switched to skis for the day. What a run of snow we're having...

But rawdogging in snowboard boots > rawdogging in ski boots.

Haha...raw dogging...I think this next storm will make it pretty hard. I've got blisters from dogging it earlier in the week. That's the price for being lazy and not switching to my hikers.

Pic 2 show some of the most un skied runs on the mountain, but also some of the most fun. Trees are so well spaced down there. Keep it hush friends
One would want to be pretty confident going down there (where I’m thinking). A nice slog coming up.

Now I am just dealing with a 4 year old who wakes every morning asking "is today a snowy day?":(

I'm very glad that I absconded with Master 5 early this year and visited Lake Mountain for a play and a slide when we had an early snowfall. I'm still hoping to get to a resort this year, although it's looking more and more likely that this will be Baw Baw so that said youngster can have snowboarding lessons, unless I can convince him to give two planks a go for half-day lessons with some afternoon snowboard time with me.

Went out for a couple of late laps before dark. Was fun but as the Buller snow report would probably say the vibe was smooth and creamy rather than dry and powdery... Clearly we've been spoiled for the last week or so!
