I'm hearing it dumped down for a solid hour near lunch time, decent accumulation over the day it seems. Some light showers still about so hopefully a bit more overnight

Was a good day overall yesterday. Bit icy/very firm in spots but I didn't hit any real boilerplate.
Wombat in the afternoon was probably the pick for me, softened up nicely.

Outstanding today. A few cm on a firm base. Groomed summit slide in the sun. Don't mind if I do.

Igloo Retreat is now available to lease. With all the ambience of a high altitude refuge, it features spectacular views to the south. The interior has been described as "Way Cool." Built only from locally obtained and environmentally friendly materials. Surely this offer can't last. First in, best dressed.

Weekend carpark and traffic reports would be appreciated by those of us wannabe day trippers… in addition to on mountain conditions updates. Thanks in advance!

Lines on Bonza and Grimus were almost ski straight on until 11am. Cloud starting to build at the top but vis was fine most of the time, very light wind.

Couple of photos from Thursday, Friday and today.

Great start to thursday, preparing to be one of the first down Bonza to rip up that beautiful corduroy.

Mens was also nice, much softer than expected. I was snowboarding solo, so thought I could get away with anything, but, the lifty called me out for slipping off an edge and sliding half way down on by butt :p. Didn't see anything that resembled a queue all day.

Friday sunshine. First day back on skiis after almost two decades on a board. Wish me luck.

Snow stayed very good seemingly everywhere despite the sun, even on the north side (summit slide). I noted that on a sunny day the helmet ratio is no longer near 100%, couple of surveys was closer to 80%.

Wombat - snow stayed pretty darn good. Made me over confident on my learning to ski again.

Today -- summit slide looking a little thin near the bottom. Must've been warm over night and snowpack suffering more. Despite it feeling colder than Thursday/Friday the air temp hurting the snowpack.

But no complaints in the slightest. Found a bump, realised I can't ski yet. Happy skiing everyone,

Season passes are fine for established skiers, good job, well on top of the mortgage etc…

But youngsters on low, casual pay, high rents are going to struggle for either day trips or season passes.

If resorts continue with this high risk strategy, they’ll lose much of their next generation of skiers.

The wealthy will always go, but the broader masses will taper.

Somewhere in the Accounts Lab they should be pondering this conundrum, wondering when do we start considering our future market?

Or is it all about cash in hand? Bugger the future. They may not own the asset in 5 or 10 years.

Well that was really nice this morning. Bit breezy and visibility came and went but the grooming was just right, soft on top but firm enough underneath - could really rip into it. Virtually no-one around. Don't take the snowboards out much these days but that was heaps of fun. And now the weather has closed in. Pray for snow after the rain!

Bottom of Summit Slide is very patchy and there is a little dirt showing through at the top of LBS now. Would be great to get a bit of a top up to patch things up but not sure the forecast looks very convincing. Fingers crossed.

A whiter shade of pale
Snow skied very well today with a few centimetres of fresh on top. No sun, but much better snow than last time I was up a couple of weeks ago, which was a dusting of manmade grain on sheet ice.

Tiny ice crystals fell most of the morning, interspersed with genuine flakes, and a few patches of sleet, so pretty damp conditions. I was grateful for the fresh coating of waterproofing on everything.

It wasn’t easy taking photos this morning as hands got damp very quickly, which made it difficult to put gloves back on!

The wind picked up from the south through the morning. While not a howling gale, it sure had a bite.

After lunch, the day grew colder, the wind picked up, goggles were constantly icing up so headed north for wind and ice protection. Ended up going down all the horsey-named runs through the trees a bunch of times, until my legs had had enough.

Plenty of obstacles and thin cover here, but loads of fun. Dirt patches showing through thin snow even on the groomed run here.

It began to snow properly by early afternoon, just magical!

I don’t think you can see the snowflakes well on my iPhone photos through the trees so I took a couple in the car park with a proper camera.

I’ll come back for seconds tomorrow.

Random one @Dave Clark

Kids who have season passes and do ski school. Any discount on the lift and lesson cost? Any idea how to get it?

Sorry - been asked by guests and can’t seem to find the definitive answer.
