I haven't skied that part of Buller yet.

I read consistent rather than continuous.

From the map on the first page, it looks like the new chair is going to run on a similar line to the existing triple chair.

Has anyone heard if they're going to flatten out the area where the current bases are? It's a pain getting to the existing triple from the cat track that leads from Eyre / Inter.

Perisher has plenty of long chairs, lots of them go forward. The Federation chair, however, goes up.

The dam will make that a bit tougher.

Fed Chair at 330m will have Mt P covered. What’s the vert of Heavenly? That’s a good* top to bottom ski that doesn’t deviate much from the fall line.

*slalom gully might not fit your definition of good, best you do it first thing.

I worked Federation and Southside in my first season as a liftie. De-icing those towers, yeah nah, never again.

You can ski Crackenback top to bottom pretty much in fall line. What is all this other fapping about?

Just a question, nothing controversial. I'm just wondering what's the longest, continuous fall line / straight line lifted run in Oz.

I just heard of the proposed new chair today. My understanding is it's going to replace the old double and triple chairs. Going a bit higher than the double and disembarking closer to Eyre ??
I guess there will be greater ski areas on MT P with the old towers gone. Is this and lift speed the only benefits? Or does it open up new terrain?

It doesn't open new terrain but it does steal "Highest lifted point" from thredbo by about 5 metres

The bottom load point is actually further down the hill than the current triple chair. If you look at the plans they are building a couple of new snow bridges as well, one of which comes across from the cat track. So it should be easier.

Also, with the double being demolished and all the buildings associated associated with the bottom load station going, no-one will be skiing the bottom section anymore. This means they can realign the track from international to turn higher up the slope and go across what is currently the final run into the double load area.

Isn't the Eyre unload a far enough from the bullwheel that they can move the wheel without moving the unload at all?

Yeh I saw am interview with Peter Brauliseur in one of the local mags this year that this lift will come with a whole package of works including upgraded Towers run, I think from memory additional snowmaking and a new upgraded restaurant.

my bad, I just had a look at the DA and, so far, it appears the cafe and toilet buildings at the double load will be remaining.
From the photos and plans it appears that with the additional skier bridge near the double load you will be able to ski continuously from the bottom of the tbars thru to the new 6 seater

Alignment will allow them to spin just 3 lifts in spring - v8 leichhardt and mt p 6.

Imo the mt p double has the ideal alignment and shouldve been a straight swap.

Hence once the towers are removed from the double it opens it up heaps.

With Thredbo, Buller and Falls Creek getting valuable publicity for flogging their old chairs in charity auctions, surely Perisher must have caught on to the idea by now?

Would sir/madam like two seats or three on your novelty garden swing?

Yes, but not much. Mainly at the bottom where the current triple alignment goes close to some trees. You could actually see them all marked this season.

However, they have been extremely active “pruning” trees this summer. Particularly around Eyre.

Yes. Ride the Kossie chair. Get off it. Follow the lift line down. Apart from a minor deviation at the bottom you are within about 20 metres of the lift all the way down

Good to hear they're removing trees from around Eyre. Get rid of them all plus the rocks and what a BLAND groomer it'll be.
