Barely worthy of a trip report, really just a few pics of an overnighter around Mt Stirling and a walk up to the summit. Great weather, even better scenery and I think I'm now ready to face work for 2019.

I absolutely love the contrast of the silvery grey burnt snowgums against the regrowth, just beautiful.

Oh the serenity....and it only took one beer to figure out how to erect my parents old Eureka Timberline tent

Mix of burnt Alpine Ash and Snowgum forest

Ski trails make for very pleasant walking

Mt Buffalo and Cobbler from near GGS Hut

Bogong High Plains on the horizon

Stirling is popular with the mtn bikers

The lone Stirling snowgum must be one of the most photographed trees in the Alps

    Stanley Bowl sans snow....looks flat

Did I mention how fantastic those dead snowgums look?

Finally after driving past countless times over the last 35 years or so, I finally drove up to the Paps.

    It's a stunning 360 deg view.
View towards Mt Buller from the Paps with storm clouds brewing

Reasonably steep and a bit rough in places along with a Couple of gates to open and close.
