Heading to Innsbruck for a few days in August (wrong time of year, I know), anyone got any recommendations around the best way to get from Munich (airport) to Innsbruck?

Train? Best Connections?

Shuttle? Recommended outfits?

Churs!

Train. Staying in Munich or going straight through? I think you will need to change at munchen ost. 2.5hrs total.
Munich airport is a fair way out of town so train is the winner as it also connects, also dodges the epic autobahn jams you get in summer

I got diverted to Munich from Innsbruck in bad weather once. They put us on the bus which didn't take to long from memory

Train should be easy. There is an S-Bahn from the airport to the Hauptbahnhof and from there you can get a train direct to Innsbruck.

Have a ski on the gletcher anyway, it will only be Aussies and kiwis on the lift anyway. The locals will be lying in beach chairs getting a tan.

I am a big fan of rail travel in Europe and was planning on catching the train back to Vienna on my way home earlier this year, but someone mentioned the Meinfernbus as I was heading to the Westbahnhof, so checked it out. It was surprisingly cheap especially if you buy online (cost €9 for Graz-Vienna) and convenient. The time was roughly the same as by train. They are express services going from a couple of points in one city to a couple of points in another city. They are comfortable double decker buses with free Wifi.

If you needed to get to a smaller destination or ski resort you would still need train or regular bus but for intercity travel this looks a good option.

Have passed through Innsbruck plenty of times, but been a very long time since I actually stopped over there.

Has lots of some very bad home made schnapps at some shitty hostel with the fat austrian innkeeper years ago. Pretty sure the brain damage received has a marked influence on my life today

Train/bus no longer needed, travel agent has managed to get flights direct into Innsbruck for sub $3k, which seems pretty decent only 7 weeks out... Maybe they are useful after all.

Nice, innsbruck airport is so rad to fly into. If you are heading to tux you can get a train as far as Mayrhofen and then bus up to Tux. Rad resort, make sure you ride the Funitel glaicer express. very rad!
