Just an outer the box suggestion but would it be better to change the prediction page now to obs and keep this flowing and easily reference / compare predictions in the one thread. Or is that not the right way to go about it. Happy days ahead.

A min. of 23.1C overnight and unpleasantly humid in Ferny Hills.
BoM's "feels like 28C" captures the mood better than the "heat index" used by the WeeWX software.

I tempted fate by leaving the washing out overnight, but it didn't rain; I'll be keeping an eye and ear out to rescue it before the expected showers etc. this afternoon.

Looking forward to a much cooler (and wetter) Christmas Day - just the thing for a traditional roast.

    Merry Christmas everyone!

Ran the gauntlet myself with the washin too. 95% cloud cover, comfortable light breeze but certainly humid. Let the games begin.

The below I posted in the predictions thread at 3pm probably better belong in here:

Clouds have been increasing this afternoon with the maximum temperature slightly above average. The temperature have been quite variable since this morning and rose and fell quite a dew times. The dew point rose in the late morning and have been near average and stable at 18 to 19 C this afternoon. Relative humidity have been mostly stable since the mid morning at about 50% which is a little above average for daytime humidity. Light E to NE winds with some ESE to E winds since early this morning.

Some cells developing on the western ranges on the radar.

Ahm, how hard is it to put current observations in this thread which is the observations thread for this event?

Clearly, the old WZ'ers need to come up to scratch with the way ski.com operates. It ain't hard.
    1. Predictions Thread.
    2. Current observations thread.

If I remember correctly, WZ also had the same system re threads regarding events.

Curious artifact on the Weatherzone Layers product. I assume it is because it has tried to combine images from two different radar units?

This just makes us all have to jump between threads and confuses many.
    However Homer has it covered.

So excited by the storm I just ran out to check the gauge and got happily soaked.
Here in Mango Hill it’s starting to lighten up a bit but we’ve had 27mm.
Hopefully we’ll get another hour or so of drizzle.

I'm just placing this here for the historical record.

The modelling for this event for WBB was an absolute failure.

And on the ninth day god did say something unto those who remained, not that there were many left. There were some left, maybe, but there was definitely at least one who was leaning up against a tree with a stick in his hand and one foot in the air flicking dog shit from the sole of his shoe,

Anyway, god did say, "Ha Ha, sucked in loser".

16mm at closest AWS. Everything looks nice and damp, and much of the plantlife is looking much nicer and greener. However many lawns are a patchwork of brown where the foliage didn't make it through the dry and lush green where it did and has recovered quickly. Digging a small hole in the backyard shows that the moisture is only a couple inches deep though with quite dry dirt below.

    A massive 5.6mm here lol

BoM had been consistently forecasting 40 - 60mm through most of our region. About 24 hrs prior to the main event, models sort of went cold on this region and for good reason. Never ceases to amaze how quickly things can change, often for the worse. You can't really ignore how large that gap is in that rainfall map posted above.
