The following link should take you to the NSW Government "Planing Portal" and a number of further links to view the plan and to make submissions about it.

Users of this forum and organisations they belong to may want to make submissions about the proposals - some of which advocate quite marked changes. The period for making submissions is very short and ends on 23 August 2021.

Obviously opinions about the proposals contained in the drafts will vary a lot. My personal interests have caused me to note the following:

- Modest growth of the existing resorts within existing boundaries eg Perisher to have 6,365 beds instead of its existing limit of 4,592. Thredbo to have 6,444 in lieu of 4,820
- Facilitation of commercial hiking and "glamping" including new cabins at Thredbo Ranger Station and Island Bend. Basic camping area near Guthega Dam.
- Buses and more parking areas including one at Piper's Gap to try to deal with increased vehicle traffic to Perisher - as opposed to using the ski tube more.
- Permitting helicopter commuting to the resorts and helicopter sight seeing. (Its a bit difficult to find this bit. It is in the proposed changes to the Plan of Management. It is not in the Draft Master Plan.)
- A very large sounding cantilevered viewing platform at Porcupine Rocks.
- There are a large number of quite sensible suggestions and a few impractical/stupid ones - especially a commuting gondola from Jindabyne to Bullocks Flat and Thredbo.
