Yesterday i noticed 3 groomers harvesting snow from Olympic and i looked like they were shaping it into a half pipe. Anyone know anything about this?

The rumour goes that Shaun White wanted somewhere to play, has purchased a 22ft cutter and gifted it to Perisher and will be here shortly after the resort closes for official business with the go pro international team.

There is probably some truth to the rumour in that SW was in Perisher briefly around 4 weeks ago, the 18ft cutter is in its summer resting place already at Smiggins, and whoever is paying for this thing to be built must have very deep pockets.

Shaun was in Woolies yesterday and friends had a pic with him today. Most of the rumours are true re the cutter etc.

I heard something about a huge jump/pipe under Olympic when I was at Perisher in early Sept - but I didn't actually believe it. Seeing is believing.

Actually, I've seen the pics and I still don't believe.

Thanks for the link to DA. Over 150 pages.

Though for me this diagram tells me most of what I wanted to know.

Ahhhh i was wondering about this too. All focus on the new chair and nothing on the pipe knowing there was earth works required...

I think the plan always was for nothing to happen on it this year - but for it to happen before next season...but now the DA is on hold...who knows.

Back to here and there
Losing too much of centre valley - essential areas when wind hold and poor vis hits the main chairs.
lost the run beside wentworth with the traffic coming down Goats Gully and the Ski X course, hate to see Leichardt lost to skiing/boarding with a half pipe

Shaun White didn't leave em snow makers! He left them a pipe cutter!

Use it or lose it - or sell it I suppose!

I'm thinking he'd be pretty pissed off if he turns up this season and it's been sold.

I think the plan is to still make a pipe there even if the DA isnt approved, it just means it won't open until there's a lot of snow piled up. With some earth works it would have shaped earlier with less snow pack.

I don't remember any snowmaking on the Cleft, has it been installed? Without it they'd never get enough snow to build it.
