Link http://arstechnica.com/science/2016...-has-developed-the-worlds-best-weather-model/ tldr: So Panasonic purchased a company that attaches sensors to aircraft a few years back, they have been assimilating all this data together with publicly available data, and created a weather model they believe is an improvement on both GF and EC. Though it does sound like they are more confident of being an improvement of GFS. I guess being able to assimilate os much extra data in your model would definitely help your predictions/results. Wold be nice if we could get some results from this model for our snow season this year
Yeah...nah... System relies on TAMDAR sensors mounted on aircraft. None of those in this neck of the woods. Not much coverage in the sourthern hemisphere at all.
