Can anyone remind me what time tows open in the morning... 9 or 10 isn't it? And afternoon passes... from 12 or 1??

I guess this is a good thread for people who have been up to post reports/pics (hint, hint)!!

Thanks BBB - I seem to remember it was in 4 hour time slots. Funny how it is only 12 months ago and I can't remember exactly... just working out what time I want to leave in the morning.

Should be fine Tezwah, it's just a normal gravel road. That said, I haven't been up since last year so don't know if these road works have altered it at all down that far.

Sorry i didnt mean the normal surface, i was only up there a couple of weeks ago, i was refering to the snow/ice conditions that low? Im assuming there will be minimal snow/ice on the road that far down by the weekend?

SnowManDan's report for the day! (Sorry for the long post!)

Well, where to begin... first day skiing for the year for me, and couldn't have been better!

Before I forget, Tezwah, you will be fine driving to the bus stop in a 2WD car with no chains, the road is fine to there. As far as the rest (the ladder), it was a little icy in the morning and very slushy in the afternoon. The signs were up saying to fit chains, but I noticed that no-one, not even in 2WD cars had. I personally didn't either (had them on me though), and wasn't an issue. No snow on the road until just before the car park, but as I said it's icy in the morning.

So to skiing. Yes, there could be more snow, but I have skied on less before, and the tows that are open: Village, Bills and Bass by memory, are fine. I walked to the top of summit and skied down, but was far too rocky and bushes poking through.

Everything else was perfect, a brilliant sunny and warm day, no crowd (skied down and could ski straight on to the next t-bar most times!), and all the tow staff and staff in general were doing a great job.

Should be awesome if we get a few more cm's of fresh stuff out of this next system! Really did have a great day today.
