Seems like a waste to miss out on some of the best snow making conditions of the year and finish the season on a high. I was really looking forward to getting down again this season but this decision makes it a little harder to justify.

Is this the price of the Ultimate Pass?

Coming across from saschas yesterday (which was awesome) I came across a snowmaker removing the hoses from the guns on little beauty, he said the water is too warm now which means it has to be a lot colder to make any snow.

The weather forecast on this web site reads:

"Monday 12 Sep: Tonight will be cold and calm enough for plenty of snow-making. "

however I guess there must come a point when the likely ticket revenue from the extra cost makes it economically no longer worthwhile?

Nobody likes the wind down of the season :-(

looking at the snow disappearing on the cam over the last few days makes me think there hasn't been any snow making for a while. Can anyone confirm this?

The snow only needs to last until the end of the season, not a day longer.

There are 2 1/2 weeks left out of 16.

    Thredbo forecast for the weekend
Perisher is worse with a max of 12 and 13.

That would be the Perisher Village vs Thredbo Top. Thredbo Village will be about 3-4 degrees warmer than Perisher Valley due to the much lower altitude. Temps could hit 15-16 at the bottom this weekend.

The decision was made on Monday or before and Monday / Tuesday nights looked like good nights for a bit of snow making ...
