NPWS are offering a six bed lodge at Smiggins for year round rental.
One of our forum members is on the project that got this (and some other NSW sites) going - he is in fact a huge bastard!
They used to rent it out to staff for winter, or all year.
I wish they put the prices up front on their booking site.
No you don't. $1,500 per night in ski season...... farrrrk
Good luck to them.
For those interested, i think it is
1500 july / aug
1000 june / sep
350 all other times
Sleeps 6, ski in and ski out.
That includes beer, right?
That's Jindy prices!!
and no food !!
Thredbo dollars....... in Smiggins
Actually not terrible value compared with pricing on some of the self catering members only club lodges. Unlike those, this doesnt require buying a share
I actually think the value is OK...I have friends paying a grand ($320 a couple) a night in Jindy a weekend for a place that wouldn't be any nicer or than that. Let alone location.
$500 a night....per couple . Thats nothing too crazy in the new accomodation world of the snowys
$630 a night for a couple just up the road in a fully catered lodge with breaky and dinner ....
If that is $1,500 for 6,then it is only 250 per night per person.
Pretty damn cheap for on snow.
Cheaper than the Smiggins hotel
Which is really unusual for NPWS managed accommodation. It is usually at the higher end of the price range
No. It’s actually a little more expensive than the Smiggins Hotel - and their price includes breakfast and a very good 3 course dinner. $2980 for 5 nights in peak season for a couple including the food and free car parking.
Franz still running Bibi's LP?
Hmm, not sure what Bibi’s is (showing my ignorance here!). Belinda runs the Smiggins pub. A well-oiled machine.
Bibi's is (was) the name of the diner at Smiggs hotel. Im guessing he is still there if the food is good.
Belinda and Joel are great fun! I was a Smigg Pig for a few seasons a while back, fortunate enough to have spent 14 months living onsnow working for Franz (2002,03 & 04).
Ahhh the good ol days haha!
Is that price per person or per room? Had not been Smiggins in ages until last weekend. Good option for my kids.
Considering I got Thredbo, 2min walk to Friday flat, 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms, garage, nicely finished, sleeps up to 8 in peak season for just under 1000 a night, it’s a bit Fken pricey for where and what it is!
The price I quoted was for 2 adults in 1 room. We stay there for a week in August with the children and stay in two adjoining rooms for just under $1000 per night, from memory, which includes 3 course dinner and full breakfast plus free parking. They also have a free kids club of an evening. Not cheap, but worth it for the convenience, coziness, and good food!
You pay $5k for 5 nights for a family?
(Sends a prayer that mum and dad never move...)
Geez that’s not bad, a buck a night!!!
I wish! Where did you get $5 from? $1000 per night for 4 in two adjoining rooms (dinner and breakfast included) or just under $600 per night for a couple
Five grand is two years accommodation in Jindy for me.
Or a couple of nights in Thredbo ....
haha missed the 'k'
Tim the Yowie man liked it... (but then again who stays inside and reads just after a fresh dump?!)
with the NPWS hitting up lodges there with bed taxes and regular inspections, I wonder to whom the fees due for this lodge shall be paid to and who will inspect the inspectors?
They will pay themselves, in the same way that Councils pay rates and charges on their own property.
