Wow so cool!Fairly cold, bleak day, very little sunshine , with Southeasterly winds.
Unlikely we will get to the forecast max of 19C.
More typical of June weather than those dry southwesterly winds in the 1st half of the month.
Only had 6mm of rain so far this month too, when June is normally still fairly wet.

Western Sydney has been beautiful. Mostly sunny and cool. Just some brief patches of cloud and certainly no threat of any showers.
I see Nelson Bay had 41 mm's up till 3 pm. That's a decent drop.

Yet you are the first to point out when others in the past have repeated what has been said in earlier posts.Just had a go at plotting the temperatures of Obs Hill and Bankstown AP and attached a moving average of 14 days. Definitely an interesting year the gradient of the maximum decline has been quite small. Looking like the average for maximums has bottomed out but minimum's continue their decline which is pretty expected due to ocean temps decreasing as well.
For Comparision, this year is looking much cooler compared to last year

Not sure if it's a radar aberration but there's a decent cell popping up out-near Windsor in the last 20 mins.
It was bright and sunny when I left home for the Central Coast this around 9:30 morning. There were interesting cloudscapes to the East and North, puffy cauliflowers. I didn’t get a chance to take pictures. Lower cloud closed in as I headed North, with light showers as I took the Doyalson exit. The day in the Lake Macquarie area was fairly cloudy with sunny breaks and little or no rain.
There are yellow-red cells out to sea now, coming ashore in the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle area, with some significant totals as others have noted. Hopefully the rain stays North. Sydney had about 1800 mm (~ 72”) from November to May, more than a Darwin Wet Season. Surely, like Darwin, we deserve a Dry Season.

Those showers off Sydney have moved inland since about sunset, penetrating West of Parramatta. Chatswood has had 2 mm, while the immediate coast has had up to 11.
The Onshore winds are back. Earlier in the year when it started raining, it stuck around for 7-10 days. This lot will be gone in a day or two.
Still feels La Nina ish for sure with the heavy showers as soon as there's an onshore flow. Just have lucked out with near constant westerlies lately and more to come after Tuesday.Another cold June day, with SE winds.
Once again, I doubt we make our forecast maximum.
Any rain forecast today will be minimal.
My own gut feeling is that La Niña is now over.
We can but hope. Waters around Northern and Eastern Australia are still quite warm so we’re not out of the woods yet.
It’s partly cloudy here after a bit of rain overnight - about 20 mm on the Sydney coast grading down to a millimetre or two West of about Olympic Park, 7 mm at Chatswood.
I think the rain is over for now, with a warm spell (low 20s max) over the next few days. Tomorrow is the Winter solstice, at 7:13 pm Eastern Australia Time. The first 20 days of Winter have felt cold, even though there have been no particularly cold maxima or minima.
Choosing Bankstown to represent Sydney, we have an average temperature range of 5.4° - 17.7°, compared to the long term average of 6.8° - 17.8° (6.9° - 18.0° 1991-2020).
So maxima have been close to average, minima about a degree and a half below. It’s been quite dry, just 4 mm month to date.
Sydney Airport is tracking 8.5° - 17.8°, -1.3° to -0.3° compared to 1991-2020 averages.
The remainder of the month looks likely to haul these temperature averages upwards.Yr.no had this in their forecasts.

I ducked at one point when in a canyon the other day, and a blip of reception showed a storm cell popping just out of sight behind the cliffs. Time to get out of the narrow constricted section
It disappeared with the next frame. Phew.
A sudden brief downpour then a crack of thunder. That was unexpected. A red storm cell popped into existence to my West and passed overhead.
Just light rain now.
Got thunder in the e-burbs.
Few drips of rain.
Just one loud crack of thunder but the cell that passed overhead was definitely real.

nice little compact cell that is .the moisture of the coast must be making it stronger as its becoming more lightning active according to tracker
