Fixed that for you.
They have snowboarders now!?
Just let your hair dread!
I have heard people bitching about the parks, saying only the staff use them, and they break themselves, so you get short staffed, and any visitors just buy a one ride, hang out at the park and eat sambos!
There is still a loophole for peeps that want to ski limited terrain all day off a one ride....hehehe
Ive heard that KT are considering allowing them yes!
This is a video of the Thredbo skiers and ski patrol curretly abhorred by those pesky new snowboarders
I’m waiting for snow play to be banned at buller it’s a joke.
When they ask for a discount, you should reduce the price from your normal 105% to 100%
Oh my video makes an appearance.
Damn I wish I had moneterised this.
I'd be rich!!
I love this video, how the $$$$$ changed the resorts minds.
One of my staff actually put the price up when one lot asked for a discount!! And they accepted and walked out the door with a smile on their faces! I was flabbergasted!
.............as opposed to the earlier immigrants, you know the ones I mean.............the Austrians, Germans, Italians, French, Slovenians and god forbid those rabid hordes from the skandi countries like Sweden, Norway and Finland. I used to laugh at being called either a squarehead or a ruskie by the skipps.
Please watch it again. I'm up to 1.7 million views.
I take all mine.
We used to have a cartoon stuck on the back door of the clinic.
“I’m a dog breeder, do I get a discount?”
“Yes, 10% more”
But you're an XC skier, not a snow player I get a few Russkis taking their grandkids XC skiing so they can show them what they themselves did as kids
I ask for discount at kennels - a bulk discount - 7 dogs. Ends up so expensive at full price that I can't go away.
Crazy dog woman.
Used to be 12. Natural attrition is taking effect. Running a canine geriatric home now. The youngest is 12. Oldest pair are litter brother (suspected toe cancer but coping well - I won't have it amputated at his age) & sister (now nick-named Helen Keller - deaf and blind but very content) aged 17.
I'll just put this here...
They're the ones who will keep the resorts profitable. Ski schools are recruiting Mandarin speak IMG instructors. I was sung last season at the number of clients I taught who were doing a whirlwind one or two week tour of Australia which included a day on the hill to learn to ski.
Lots of growth and opportunity in that market.
Are there any ski resorts, globally, that put a number limit on day tickets? Does anybody know?
Such a tease
Deer Valley is one.
Off topic I know but I had to laugh at the mention of a geriatric home for dogs - business took me to a property near Hervey Bay and as we came up the driveway, dogs started coming from everywhere. Concern was quickly replaced with humour - Jacks Russell's and Labradors most of them; the youngest about 7. Some of the older ones just barked (more like coughed) and ran (more like stumbled) straight past us until they bumped into the fence. Blind as bats. The Labradors just wanted to jump in the dam, no matter the excuse. It was like living in a cartoon with all these enthusiastic geriatrics who hadn't seen a stranger for ages and still pined for the glory days running randomly all over the place. Tail wagging utopia; a great giggle!
a youtube version for you
I'm wondering how much money the resort spent getting the large carrot from out of the ski patroller's ass
It's my YouTube channel you doofus lol
yes I gathered that.
posting the yioutube gets you more hits than watching via FB
I'd really love to see Tom Yum Goong corner, but most of us are in the kitchens or run around serving and can only come with snowbus once a year or less. I get excited every time I hear people speak Thai on the hills.
Scroll right to the bottom of the Thredbo home page and there is a Chinese version.
Don’t know but they would have needed it to make one bit arse humble pie!
Some people don't even pay for accommodation and then take up the best spots in the car park and do the biggest dumps in the toilets!
Have you achieved the second point yet?
Oooh, new toilet that shows the, er, weight of the load! Load of the week! Load of the season! Its a whole new market for Brokelads!
Pay toilets like in Europe but with an exit weight fee.
They don't have an exit weight fee in Europe, it is per deposit only.
Haven't found a vessel suitable enough to contain the cucka that is typical of my "drank caffiene all night in the car" poo to allow weighing. I score highly in the "splatter pattern" points though.
Pics, or it didn't happen!
Now we are talking.

Where the conversation usually ends up in subcontinent backpackers common rooms
can't see any mention of snow in that article. Re Indian tourists:
“Most are coming to visit family members studying in Sydney and Melbourne. Cricket pilgrimages to the Melbourne Cricket Ground and Bradman Museum in Bowral are also a priority.”
I think snow play should be encouraged, without the detriment of paying customers. Pretty sure my first experience was snowplay at Mt Buffalo back in the early seventies. It also provides an insight into how first generation migrants are not only 'doing well' enough to spend on luxuries (probably something their not used to) and their willingness to get out and explore their new home/country, something many many bogan Straylians will never do (small circle of comfort mentality).
Will there be any car parks at Thredo on a Sat during the season by mid morning? Inshallah.
And for those who love the 7.30 traffic jam at the roundabout, the double lanes are progressing nicely. Survey work for the bypass underway, bahahaha
Yes that is true. I taught my children to ski , both Nordic and Alpine , same as my father taught me. Now I help teach my grandchildren and it is a very rewarding experience. I guess the difference between the immigrants of my age and origin ( of which I am one) and the modern variety is that we came from countries that are considered ski countries and therefore were more predisposed to continue skiing whereas the more modern counterpart does not have that background and so enjoys the snow in a different way. The next generation of the modern immigrant wont be satisfied with mere snowplay ( whatever that means , I am unsure to be honest) and will want to climb the hills as it were.
By the way I am not a Russki , very close but very different
When i lived in Wagga Wagga i was astounded at the number of people that told me they had never seen snow. FFS it's 90 minutes up the road!
Back on POFM competition - not to give away my secrets - but i did learn the "stand on seat and use cistern as a support" method from some of our new arrivals. So much more canvas when the floor is also in play.
Well, that explains a bit.
Speaking of all things shitter, the Rawson Pass dunnies are the bomb, Ubi would be highly impressed, no table though.
Average Aussie weekend sno-warriors,
