Hi All, I need to shoot over to NZ for work within the next fortnight and I am wanting to know and keep up to date with the following: a) Which resort has the most snow/open terrain b)Snow forecast Summary for the country Does anyone know if there is a place in these forums to get this info or if there is a website that will give me all of this? Thanks.
Depends where you're going? Canterbury - Hutt seems the best option now but a lot can happen in a couple of weeks. Southern Lakes - Cardrona, Coronet, Remarks fingers crossed should have something up and running?
Coronet few days ago, remarks opening tomorrow website says 60cms new snow last few days, I’m at my hutt reasonable cover but wind blown
Statistically 8 out of every 10 reported incidents of a cat / dog chase show the cat in pursuit of the dog.
thanks....keeping an eye here for our trip early august to QT / wanaka mrs mr is very keen on snow farm.....i dont know much about it.....is it open as often as Cardrona etc?
Beautiful up there, so peaceful. Lots of nice terrain to explore too if you want to fix your heel on the way down.
Rainbow skiing well at the moment - skied there on thursday with 15cm of fresh, and there's been another 40cm since then.
Conditions looking good on the Travers Range (across the valley from Rainbow) a few days ago -will get myself up there around mid spring.
Was going to post some photos of skiing Powder Valley and 6.1 at Rainbow yesterday, in 30 cm of fresh, but the camera battery went flat after one photo. THIS IS THAT PHOTO!!!, showing the busiest lift queue I've seen all season. Only 12 days to go, until it's over for another season.
A late start, and still with a below average base, but Rainbow doesn't need much snow for decent skiing.
An unfortunate victim of circumstance am I -won't be able to make the last weekend of the season. Particularly annoying as there is about 40cm+ of snow forecast for the next couple of days. Fare ye well Rainboew-see ya next year Managed to get some of the kid's phone photos of a 30cm of new snow last sunday
SSW sudden stratospheric warming this year = 1 mega august & 3 late season blizzards ... 2800m volcano facing the southern ocean. RAL season pass sale - they just very controversially shortened the Turoa 20 season by a week ending earlier, many unimpressed. but ... Turoa will be sweet, tomo - Mon ...
I've got to say Broken River has the best written ski reports on the Met Service Snow app, and I haven't even been there yet!
