weird weather here in sydney the last 2 days. Overcast, muggy, mild and sunshine here and there but mostly mean looking skies without any real follow through (except the storms on monday)

Nice idea but too wet. Alternating sleet and rain all day. In the snow cave contemplating if it's too early to get in to the booze.

Wet snow at Thredbo - sat in bar at black sallees 1800m

Rocks starting to show below 1400m but cover is good above but could do with a good freeze as very soft

2 cams snowed in at Baw Baw, rest looking mighty fine (snow in trees), with the low still yet to wrap back around. Good news for Buller too despite the cams :)

All that stuff South of the Mountains that was heading West has started to move North and as the low moves East it will go bang over the top of the resorts.

Like how I used the whole compass?

Back in Thredbo after watching moguls in Perisher.
Its raining at 1980m. Unpleasant, slow, sticky.
The wind is picking up a little, trusting its coming soon!

Super day at Falls. Started off with rain which turned to heavy snow around 9am. Featuring fat flakes and approx 5 - 10cm. Cleared up by about 11am before the sun came out. Great skiing on any southern facing slopes. As I type, back to overcast and foggy with sleet. Its certainly been dynamic weather this week.

Im expecting so, especially as night hits.
Falls has fallen from 3deg to current 0.9 since 12:30.
Once the S hits properly it should drop to -1 to -2 atleast

High Noon terrain park showing snow flakes pretty clearly at 3:40. Thredbo Valley cam shows what looks like waves of white coming down across the mtn, can't tell if its fog or snow. The surface might be a bit warm but the uppers are as cold as they have been all week according to models. It would not surprise (in fact reports indicates its happened today) if we see bursts of snow in cold down drafts in between milder weather. Hopefully these latest cams are a sign the colder uppers are ready to start having their way, at least in higher areas.

Interesting to see that Mt Baw Baw is so much colder than the rest of the vic resorts, despite being significantly lower.
    Curious system.

It is usually the closest snow to Bass Strait CC - unless Strezleckis get a dusting, Stands to reason the most southern resorts generally gets the coldest/wettest air for a given altitude. Unless there's an inversion etc at night where the proximity to the sea makes Baw Baw warmer.

And as a general observation, no ski area does rain/drizzle/muzzle like BAw Baw. ☔️

Ok. So the system continues to pull moisture feed from the NW. But as the system travels East. You can see the southerly speckled cold injection becoming more prominent.

I don't think it will be long before the NSW resorts return to below zero, from this observation.

But be wary of the upper slopes leading into siren song and/or Watson ck - pretty much see avy debris there after every storm. Not sure how the pack is settling at the moment (report CM?) but as they say the best places to watch for are the ones that are known to slide with regularity. Upper East face of Twynam is another. And obviously Blue Lake. Sorry if Captain Obvious!
