Looking at radar and satellite pics, the low is rotating in western Bass Strait.
Pressure is still pretty high, 1017 hPa here in Canterbury.

Stiill raining in Jindabyne and 9 deg (car). Still above zero in Perisher. Temps are dropping to the west but moisture is also. Centre of low seems to be around Mt Gambier but as CC has said pressure is pretty high at 1015hpa.

Left Canterbury today and got down to Wanaka, blowing a gale, seems to have eased tonight, but expecting another crappy windy day tomorrow.

Fingers crossed it eases for Monday.

I observe that this morning was pi$$ing down at thredbo base, frozen rain up top. Totally soaked - by 11am thought the day would be a complete fail, but the afternoon came good with some colder temps and better picks of areas to ski.

Afternoon weather-wise was better, still more hard rain up top but dry patches here and there. even saw the sun and a rainbow at one point

Currently raining on and off in Jindabyne and around 4-5 deg, hopefully the temps are cold enough to give the resorts some coating - particularly at the ~1500 level and below, which were VERY slushy and not worth it.

Yeah.. I just noticed that storm cell incoming on the radar as well. Mount Hotham has also dropped 0.6 degrees to -2.7 in the last 30 mins. Also Mt Hotham Airport is into negatives so it should be snowing down to 1100m [IMG]

I am observing the WEIRDEST sat loop that I have seen in a long, long time.
    Winds going east-to-west, west-to-east, north-to-south and south-to-north....clockwise AND counterclockwise!!!

If we get snow, be very grateful, because the barometer says we shouldn't be....fingers crossed!

Snow is skiable at least in Guthega. A wet couple of cm's but more is needed. No wind but cloud hanging over the range.

The radar has that line of moisture developing perfectly to sweep right a across the ranges from the NW, looks to be stretching out in a NE to SW band which IMO will have good snow falling very soon. Especially at Falls and Hotham. Judging by the rotation and moisture spread, we could see several of these bands develop this arvo/evening that sweep across the resorts. Promising stuff IMOO, after such an unpromising last 3 weeks. [IMG]

I also observe really dark clouds circling Melbourne's north, been developing all morning after a sunny start. This arvo could deliver i reckon.....

Some nice rotation now. Hotham and Falls will benifit from the NW moisture. Some heavy falls likely from the Wang to Wodonga band as it sweeps across. Another couple of hours.
