Hmmm .......... Getting quite a bit of shadow from tassie. For the sake of the mainland ski season, we should nuke that joint. ;)

Hopefully as we come out of the shadow, a little more love may ensue. But the low may have move on. :(

Intermittent snow/rain mix at FC in the village bowl. Not settling but probably not doing any damage either. Should be a good few days between now and the weekend.

And 5 minutes later out came the sun! I guess that's it for this event. Nice little top-up.

Yeah, sun is kind of out now a bit, but then it closes in a little bit. It seems the snow has stopped.

It was a little heavy going, was like carving through butter. Still was good and Orchard reopened. Made for some really good skiing all the same. I wouldn't go so far as Epic... that's demoting the word. As I heard a photographer say, the snow doesn't make for good spray snow pictures.

Exit out or Mary's fine. Exit out of Chisholms is almost done, have to stay high to cross the creek. The track out from higher in the valley also is very sketchy in the usual spots.

Still, skiing Purgatory, Twilight, Imagine and Snake was good. No bumps, all pretty smooth sailing.

This will allow the good areas to stay open for a few weeks more.

I didn't take too many pics as it was somewhat wet.

This does not actually demonstrate a (significant) tassie rain shadow IMO. See wrap around (from SW) being present north of the prom...

Snowed on and off all day at perisher, the wind has really died down now and the odd flake is still coming down even though the cloud is not directly above. No net gain but no loss of snow over the past 2 days. Snow was pretty heavy going.

Whilst I agree a feed is wrapping around tassie. I still believe we are loosing a significant amount of snow to that pesky isle.

With this system, I'd estimate 10cm lost to shadow and loss of water vapour pick up.

Keoghs Bash, Teletreat and Twirligig are the ones that are in trouble. They have vegetation sticking through at some point. Spargos is looking worse for wear as well, but One Tree was skiing a treat today. They might hold up a few days, have to really see what the weather brings tomorrow, might be able to see more without the cloud around.

Lower Playground, Off the Edge are pretty much no go zones, Wall of Death is for those who are keen for a run that in the end is not going to be all that good, especially when everything else is much better.

Gotcha/Marys should be skiing good for a while longer though.

There's probably likely to be some good spring skiing over the next 7 days.
