    991! Feral.

A beautiful, warm, perfect pre-frontal day in Manly today. The kind of day that makes you think of spring, which is a certain sign that there's a strong, chilly tail about to pop up from down south.

A NW tail clipping SA on the radar at the moment, but for now we wait patiently.

Lower pressure = instability I think. Instability = precipitation. Cold + Precipitation = snow. In this case epic dumpage.

yes the lower the pressure the strong it is for instability but also the stronger it is to fight other highs pushing it south and away.

On topic its 14 at 8:00 in berra, that's absurdly warm for all but summer here at night.

Currently 19.2 degrees in Adelaide - up from 17.8 at 5pm! Very strange. Also blowing very hard and just staring to rain.

Just put the dogs outside in their kennel. 10*C, unheard of here for 10.30 pm at this time of the year.

Yeah, it was so unusually warm this morning on my way to work. Absolutely ridiculous at this time of year. Can't wait for this system to pass through and chill things right down. Even this evening here at my place in inner Melbourne, winds were light, and temps were mild. Still 13.6 outside. Out near where I work it reached 18C today. A few weeks back, it didn't get above 6C.

oh I wish! For someone who is always saying how much I love the cold/hate the heat ---->I am fecking freezing tonight!! Storm last night knocked out the pool heating for the cubs, they've been verging on hypothermia both sessions today. Heater is on, tucked under blankies, still cant get warm!

    "lighted"?
Can be (grudgingly) allowed if you are American, otherwise it's "lit".

Yesterday afternoon, observed high cloud moving at a steady pace from the north west in Jindy.

Overnight temp reported by Perisher as 1.6.

Atm, this morning it's cloud above the hills on the horizon with my NE outlook in Jindy, clear above the lake. Nearby cloud appears to be moving from a bit more of a northerly source at a reasonably steady pace.

Mean maximum temp anomaly for the past week

There is still a lot of warmth in the airmass over land, SST in Bight are closer to normal. Moisture is not going to be a problem with this system.

On the upside, dont have to worry much about damage from prefrontal.

IMO the guns will start 24/7 from early Saturday, and go for maybe 5 days.

Everything crossed, if this system doesnt deliver.......still waiting for the season to start.

Unseasonably warm is an understatement! I rode in this morning with a rain jacket and long pants looking at the grey clouds. The rain held off so I stripped off to my shorts and short-sleeved top.

Rather amazing for the coldest week of the year (statistically).

I Looked at the cams and damage done this week has been huge.

I didn't realize it was that bad

I won't be hitting it till Monday. But I say a lot depends on the first bit of the storm on Friday..

I might heading to NZ otherwise.

Getting windy in Adelaide again and the temp is now on 14.4c and rising.
If this moves across to the mountains and stays warm its going to be like a blow torch on the snow that is still there. I would be praying that there is a lot of snow to come after the rain and it starts soon rather than later.

^^ It's all that moisture in the cloudband South of Ceduna that interests me. I'm guessing the (real) cold front to its South-west will run into it and drag it over Victoria on Friday night/Saturday...

Been raining constantly for over a hour in mildura now - temps have droppedas well. unsure on current temp - car is saying 14
