The temp actually reached 20C today.

That must be the warmest late June day ever. Not surprising though, given the size of that bloody low and the air it's dragging!

According to the latest BoM analysis, the two fronts of that low have occluded. Usually that means the low is dying. Better hope not!

Its ridiculously windy in Hotham at the moment, very difficult to walk outside with the horizontal rain and 130km wind gusts.

It has been raining all day (11.8mm) and its been quite heavy since 1pm. The rain has done alot of damage, apparently only big d and the summit trainer areas are skiable now (and only just skiable). So hopefully it turns to snow soon [IMG]

Are you incapable of reading or just desparate for attention? As has been said by a few people, your posts mean absolutely nothing if you dont tell us where you are [IMG]

snowobssesedgirl: cold air still a while away, and it is only going to get windier up there [IMG] Where are you staying?

Trappers- Im staying at Bundarra, I'm guessing you're at Trapdoor?

I cant imagine it getting windier! I heard that all the signs were taken down today and other objects fixed down. 125km gusts actually would be a category 1 cyclone, so we've made it into category 2 territory!

I'm actually currently in Perth, but yes, I have a very close association with Trapdoor [IMG] A few years ago the Hotham AWS recorded a wind gust of 182km/h the highest recorded in non-cycloic conditions in Australia! [IMG] Good luck getting sleep!

I observe that at Thredbo, it is [auto-censor] with rain and about 6 degrees (correction the thermometer outside my chalet in Woodridge just hit 7.0). It dropped from around 9 this afternoon before a little hailstorm that came through around 4. Solid rain and some lightening since.

Really looking forward to the cold hitting us but it really doesn't feel like its going to for a while. Unless there is a huge temp difference between the village and the top of the hill, what cover there is, is copping a beating.

Read my profile if in doubt! That was at my house in Yinnar South. Happy now??? [IMG]

And I observe at my house still 16.5C. Dew point eerily low at 6 degrees.

Oh and its probably worse then it appears from looking at the obs from the AWS.

Rainfall measurements are never accurate with high winds.

Anticipating cold air within the next 8 - 12 hours or so.

I observe Hotham's temperature just went UP to 2.7

Can someone explain this before I start panicking? Am I going to be dirtboarding next week?

he he I can see all this rain tonight getting the impatient snow desperate amongst us all worked up and worried!

I'm expecting nothing good until about mid morning tomorrow but hoping it turns during the night! IMO rain for several hours before the temp drops enough sometime tomorrow morning.

Oh yeh, currently 16C and rather pleasant in Sydney.

I've spoken to both Hotham and Buller, if it doesn't snow tonight the skiing will be 'limited' tomorrow.

Most areas where this current front has passed through have dropped between 4-5 C
Buller should be the first to see some temp variation, very soon.

Don't worry about trappers, he is probably just having his period again.

I observe that it is still raining, but not to worry. Come Saturday we will all be smiling - including trappers.
