Was going to post a picture of Hobart beneath the snow this morning but didn't bother, not much to report. Snowline to 600 metres but probably just a couple of cm.

This was always going to be the case for this part of the system.

    Re: Observations 2nd - 6th June

Judging by Buller's Village cam, they have had 3-5cm to village height, not the 10-15 I called for last night but geez, how are the nice cold temps?! The guns are blazing, and looking at the plooms, they will be making a bit today and tonight. The high after the next system will give great snow making conditions, ideal really. Cold here in Essendon, sunny but only 10.5 degrees when I got the paper ten mins ago.

I observe cloud and potential moisture being "fed" into the now clearly visibly spiraling low pressure system on its south western flank.

    Re: Observations 2nd - 6th June

I definitely observed lots of snow falling... up to 6cms shovelled this morning. steadily snowing all day, and none of that sleety, wet stuff. premium, dry flakes were to be had.

only stopped for an hour or 2 at most. and still freezing atm

That huge band of cloud appears to be tracking straight east.

The bottom of the small clump of cloud below it may just nick the northern resorts overnight?

Its not sliding east, its rotating. It will tend more SW'ly in a few hours as the low moves east.

Back on topic: -4C a most resorts and going to get a whole lot cooler once this front moves through IMO.
