Re: Observations: 3rd to 9th July

A very warm day for June in Adelaide at 22 deg. Cold air is around the WA Border as well as moisture. Hopefully that low south of WA pushes NE as progged.

    Scoresby 8.30pm is 5C

    WTF!

Talking inversions. -10c at the bottom of the quad at Perisher with 2.2c at the top however humidity that low it gives a wet bulb of -2.3c which correct me if I am wrong means they could be making snow with an ambient temp of 2.2c +. Is that correct??

must have been seriously low humidity last night at Buller. Took the dog for a walk at 9.00 and it was a balmy 4C but all guns were blazing and have been all night. Out weather station suggests it is around -1C here in the Village ATM and very windy. Guns just went off on Lwr Bourke St about 15 mins ago.

Hotham seems to copping most of the rain currently, rate about 2mm - 3mm/hr going off the BoM observations.

Temps looks to have peaked at Falls / Hotham and are now on the downward. Buller should peak in the next hour or so then start dropping I would imagine.

0.4c drop in the last 30mins at Falls Creek. Temperature now down to 0.9c, 3mm/hr rain rate.

Hotham AWS just in the negatives (note, Hothams AWS is 100m higher then Falls), about 2mm/hr.

Buller temp has dropped a little on the last update but not sure whether it has started the downward trend yet. Only 0.4mm/hr there.

Re: Observations: 3rd to 9th July

0.6C at Falls with 4mm/hr rain rate. I doubt it will be snowing there yet. My guess is by 9pm.

0.6C at Buller but not getting any older yet. Have to wait a bit longer. Luckily Buller isn't getting smashed with rain like Hotham was.

    Hotham steady just under 0C.
