I dont think so it's had around 10cms so far with more to come, it should do ok with this next wave.

Looking at the sat pic the cold front is intersecting that moisture input perfectly.

Yep if I were considering a day trip I'd have the car packed and be in bed for the early start. That's plenty for this time of night.

I observe it building nicely at the moment for the 2nd wave/vein/pulse/vibe/snow

    http://www.weatherzone.com.au/radar.jsp?...k=1&lye=1&lyf=1

Will it deliver though or FIZZ ? If you believe the charts it's meant to FIZZ and not really deliver much to the resorts

I will observe in the morning

The bulk of the moisture has fallen in western Victoria, as progged... where it's virtually useless from our point of view [IMG]

Hopefully the SW feed tomorrow has a bit more kick in it (moisture wise) than what the models are suggesting. It seems to me like the dream system that sent all the moisture to the wrong address... if only what fell over the Otways ended up in the Alps...

Cold here in Canberra late yesterday, and the brindies have a new coat on today. Was calm early, but bits of wind starting to turn up.

    That looks legit to me.

Nearby, Mt Moornapa has had steady falls since 6am of around 10mm. Bairnsdale has had 6mm in the same period.

Reported 4cm of fresh overnight... with all that r**n I wouldn't be surprised if it snowed about 10cm and lost 6 through rain (or some other wacky ratio) Still, it's a net gain... and they've hit 50cm mark. Better than they did all of last year.

I expected follow up showers... none coming on the sat pic or the radar. Once the moisture clears East Gippsland it's all over.

icy cold sw with rain down the far south coast here atm. looks like the main rain band is just a little to far south east but the air is certainly cold enough.
every little bits a bonus now

i observe strong winds and warming temps. This is making me think the fresh snow won't be much chop on the weekend. Still considering a trip though.

Yep, even the Rock Creek gnome at Perisher has lost some of his cover in the last little bit, so I'm affeared this may be a little bit of rain falling at the moment.

Just spoke to a mate at Smiggins for work and not much moisture there all day. We have had steady light rain all afternoon in Jindabyne and about 6c. Temperatures have warmed up slighly this afternoon but again not much moisture since this am

Off piste up high at blue cow at 5pm was breakable crust or wind packed. Backcountry will be challenging this weekend. Still considering a trip though.
